My name is Sakamoto, and I am the BtoB team leader in the Marketing Department.
Our team helps create corporate websites for various B2B companies. This time, we visited a company for which we were in charge of renewing their website, and talked to them while looking back on the project at that time.
Our partner was Japan Digital Distribution Co., Ltd. (JDS) , which distributes CS digital broadcasts, BS digital broadcasts, and other broadcasts to cable television operators nationwide using two networks: optical fiber and satellite.
Why did they place an order with Monosus? We spoke to Mr. Ashida and Mr. Mori about the background, behind-the-scenes stories, and how the site is being operated after the renewal. (Titles omitted in the text)

A B2B website that is more than just serious
Sakamoto: With this corporate website renewal,
They chose us, Monosus, from among the many production companies available.
What was the deciding factor?
Mori: Our company's business is BtoB, so being able to make proposals with a BtoB perspective was a requirement.
From these, we held a competition among several companies with experience in creating BtoB sites.
Monosus has a strong design appeal and track record.
I think it was the closest feeling to what Ashida and I were looking for at the time.
Rather than a stiff, serious site, I wanted it to have a more frank feel.
Sakamoto: I felt that people were looking for something new to challenge themselves with, something that was fun and not too formal even in B2B.
Difficulties during the production phase
Sakamoto: I imagine that once production actually began, you had a lot of difficulties.
How do you feel looking back on it?
Rather than it being a battle between Mori and Monosus, it was more a case of difficult internal coordination.
While looking at the schedule that was provided to us, we struggled with how to gather manuscripts from within the company given the tight schedule.
As I mentioned earlier, one of the reasons I decided on Monosus was because their production structure was exactly what I personally wanted.
There is a division of labor. It was my first time to see a production company with a marketing manager and a writer. It's not like there is.
In my previous job, I worked as a magazine editor, and perhaps because I grew up in an environment where the work was divided up when creating something, this aspect seemed really appealing to me.
Sakamoto: Oh, I'm glad to hear that.
Ashida: It was actually really helpful to have a writer support us.
Mori: When we think about creating content in-house, it's not like we can write all the manuscripts ourselves.
Sakamoto : The truth is, the difficult thing about hiring writers is that it's hard to get customers to understand their value.
There are probably not many companies that do the design and programming in-house, but
Anyone can write a piece of writing, apart from the quality.
So I get a lot of responses like, "You're paying for writing?"
But on the web, text is a very important element.
The reader is drawn in by the catchy copy and the quality of the writing.
We are very grateful that you decided you needed a writer.
Mori's homepage is something that is viewed by a lot of different people, so putting aside your personal likes and dislikes, if the writing is done by someone called a "writer", you can be sure that it will be of a certain level.
I thought that if I was going to make something, it would be nice to have something like that.
Mori says that the biggest challenge during production was "internal coordination."
Results of the Renewal
Mori :Recently, we also had them renew our inquiry form.

Ashida : We get quite a lot of inquiries.
Before , pressing the inquiry button would just launch the mail client,
It was quite difficult to make inquiries from there.
Ashida: Currently, we receive two to three inquiries per week.
In addition to questions about Mori products, we also accept employment inquiries.
As a company, it's natural that we will receive these types of inquiries.
I think this change is really big.
Sakamoto: We are starting to receive inquiries, which means the renewal is starting to show results, so it's a good sign.
Ashida: There are still many areas where we are feeling our way around.
As a company, we have hardly done any public relations activities to introduce our services to the public or promote ourselves in any way, so we were surprised to receive contact from such an unexpected source.
When I explained the purpose of this renewal to Mr. Mori Sakamoto, he said that he wanted to increase sales opportunities.
We talked about this.
I feel that this trend is definitely spreading.
I honestly think it was a good thing.
Sakamoto: I remember that we talked about the four psychological barriers to marketing during the initial planning stage.
Your website is currently undergoing various development phases and is getting better and better.
I'm looking forward to what's to come.

Ashida: I think the first time we consulted was around the end of December last year.
I remember that Mr. Sakamoto provided us with a quote quickly.
Sakamoto: Thank you.
Ashida : Does Sakamoto only work in sales?
Sakamoto: That's true. That said, sometimes I get involved from the planning stage.
At that time, I basically leave it up to the production to see if it is progressing as I had originally planned, but I sometimes watch it from a distance.
We have had the opportunity to work together with JDS to create this website.
We hope to continue to go through multiple phases to make this a great site.
