This is Saito from the Quality Control Department.
In September of this year, I did satellite work for a week at a satellite office in Kamiyama, Tokushima Prefecture, where the summer atmosphere still lingered.
At Monosus, satellite work requires a week-long stay, including weekends, and a minimum of five days of work, but this was the first time that members of the quality control department had been there. It had been three years since I last stayed in Kamiyama, since the first Monosus Juku session . The town had changed a bit since then.
This time, I would like to write about what satellite work in Kamiyama is like, what it's like at work, and life there.
This is what satellite work for quality control members looks like.
This time, I mainly worked on the second floor of the Kamiyama office. All the WS department members who work at the Kamiyama satellite office are on the first floor.

This is the first satellite work for the Quality Control Department (QC). At first, we communicated with the QC in the Yoyogi office using in-house communication tools and telephones. There were no particular problems, but from the third day, we decided to connect with Yoyogi via Hangouts (video call) and try working. I feel a little embarrassed to say "Hello~" (laughs).

I was working on my desktop and using my personal computer on the left to view Hangouts and other internal communication tools for internal communication.
However, by being able to see each other, the exchange of confirmations went more smoothly. We were able to show each other our PC screens and say things like, "Please take a look at this."
There were times when I would start a project from scratch after listening to an explanation from a member in Yoyogi, but in those cases, the person in charge would be taken to their desk via Hangouts (with me on their computer screen) and I would receive the explanation, so it all went smoothly.
I was able to use Hangouts to communicate with the person in charge of checking in Yoyogi and explain projects and answer questions from the WS Department (Kamiyama Team).
The seats on the second floor have spacious desks and windows on both sides, so there is good ventilation.
Although it was unknown how things would turn out in terms of the environment, communication, etc., there were no problems that could not be solved. We had meetings within the department, but we were able to work comfortably using the satellite without any difficulty in hearing the connected Hangouts.
If you are connected to Hangouts, you will be able to see when people come to work, take a break, or leave their desk, just like in the Yoyogi office.
Life in Kamiyama
We stayed in an apartment (2nd floor) contracted by Monosus, located within a 5-minute walk from the office.
The room is a one-room apartment with a washing machine, air conditioning, and separate toilet and bath. It faces south and has a nice view and lots of sunlight. There is no refrigerator, but there is a convenience store nearby, so it's not a problem.

It's spacious

Commuting route. I need the light on my smartphone on the way home.
Kamaya is nearby, so you can have breakfast there too.

Kamaya's Morning Menu
We also have our company lunch at Kamaya .
I receive company meal tickets from Kamiyama employees and hand them over to the Kamaya staff.

Vegetables at the roadside station were also cheap, and other than souvenirs I didn't make any big purchases so my living expenses weren't very high.
The joys of satellite work
Participate in local events!
In Kamiyama, events are held in various places, not just on weekends. On this occasion, there was an event called "Pizza Night" held at Kamaya , and I participated. It seems that a craftsman from New York baked the pizzas.

A tour of the 4th term of Monosasu Juku !
The view from the classroom was great and the air was great. On this day, Hayashi-san's class was being held.

The balcony outside the classroom has a great view. All Monosus members are free to use the room.

Have lunch with everyone from the Kamiyama office!
One member of the satellite office said, "When someone comes to the satellite office, it's nice to be able to all go to Kamaya together."
Despite their busy schedules, they also held a "Welcome to the Satellite Dinner Party." They were all funny and friendly people, so they made us laugh a lot.

Lunch together
Enjoy your holidays!
We took a walk around Kamiyama town. We left the office and visited the environment where the Kamiyama members live. Snakes were welcoming us everywhere.
This time, we visited the home of Mr. Kurihara, who has been living in Kamiyama for three years, and he also showed us around the general goods store "Ochikochi" in Tokushima City. He also took us to Naruto and we visited the Naruto whirlpools, and we had a very busy day.

If your schedule matches up with the Kamiyama members, they can accompany you to Kamiyama.
There are also car-sharing options available, so if you can drive you can rent a car and travel around nearby islands.
We've created a recommended route in Kamiyama that you can follow on your own even if you don't have a car on the weekends!
If you have a car you can get around a lot, but I'm sure there are people out there who don't have a driving license! So I made this to hopefully be of some help.

There are bicycles in the apartment, so you can use them.
It's about 40 minutes on foot, or 15 minutes by bicycle.

Kamiyama BEER is a new store that opened this year.
There are many other things, but this is just one reference.
When I lived in Kamiyama for five months, I hardly walked much, but now there are more shops and more things to enjoy within walking distance. Of course, you can still have fun just by looking at the mountains and the river and taking a walk.
As I was walking, someone who I had been grateful to in the past spotted me from his car and called out to me, saying, "It's unusual to see someone walking around, so I recognized you right away" (lol).Since there was no one else around, it gave me the feeling of traveling alone, which was quite nice.
Although there are areas for improvement, satellite work was carried out without any problems.
I thought that satellite work would be possible if the members of my department understood and trusted me, at the right time.
In Kamiyama, you don't have to take the train, so you can commute at your leisure, and there are no problems in terms of daily life, so if there are people who want to relax and take their time in a natural environment while doing their usual work, it's not a big hurdle, so I recommend it to my department members. The environment is completely different from Tokyo, so it's a very good experience to be able to work in a different environment.
I thought it would be great if this could provide some inspiration and options for how our members work in their daily lives.
Going alone is fine, but it might be a good idea to go to satellite work with someone as it will expand your range of movement.
It was reassuring to have everyone at the Yoyogi office reach out to me over video calls (laughs).
