Interview with Monosasu members: "How are you spending your time working from home?"

#Yoyogi

Hello, this is Director Katsumata.

Most of the members of Monosasu, who have shifted to working from home, are doing short interviews on the theme of "How are you spending your time?" (Some say that this is just a chat under the pretext of an interview.)

Today, I'd like to introduce some of them in an article.

Baba-chan living happily

The first one is Baba-chan, who is in the same unit.
We are classmates at Monosasu Juku and often work on projects together, but on this day instead of talking about projects, I asked him how he was spending his time.

-How do you feel about working from home, Baba-chan?

I agree.
I used to work on-site at my clients' locations, but now both my clients and I work from home.
Since we are not in the same space, I feel sorry for causing trouble even for small communication moments while I work.

- Do you ever feel like it's tiring to stay at home all the time?

Not at all (laughs). It might actually be a good thing. I can fold laundry and do housework in between work, so I'm spending my time very comfortably. I can even sing while I work.
I am curious about the plants in the Yoyogi office though.

-You've just started taking care of the plants in your courtyard. So now you only need to go to the office to take care of the plants?

That's true (laughs)
When you're at home, you can eat freshly cooked, hot food.

- Baba-chan is someone who can work from home.

I was totally fine. My stress level has decreased a lot. I'm so happy.

-What about your days off?

I watch movies and dramas at home. I'm rewatching "SPEC" and "Keizoku."

-You're having a great time.

Yes, my back hurts a bit, but otherwise I'm happy.

Tachiwaki-san is good at dealing with stress

The second person is Mr. Tachiwaki, who works in operations.
Although we often meet at meetings together, we have never had a chance to chat, so I decided to ask him about it.

-What does a day like for you?

I live in a dormitory, so I work in the living room, in a spare room, and in a variety of other places. I probably spend more time wandering around than I do at the office.

- Is it comfortable?

For the first three days I was unfamiliar with the job and it was so stressful that I couldn't get any work done.
I'm gradually getting used to it, and when I feel really stressed, I use a meditation app to reset myself.

-Meditation is good.

Also, since stress affects my throat, I sometimes drink chelated lemon juice to refresh myself.

-I'm always careful about stress management. Is there anything different about working here compared to working in an office?

If we were in the same space, I could talk to someone who looks busy, but I think it's difficult to do that.
Also, I used to think it would be great to be able to work right after waking up at home, but I also think it's nice to go to an office and be forced into work mode and concentrate.

-I see.

I realized that the office is a place where I can get into that kind of mood.
Outside of work, I've started subscribing to Note's paid magazines.
Also, I watch "How Do You Like Wednesday?" on a regular basis to create time to not think about anything. (laughs)

Matsunaga tries out various things

The third person is Mr. Matsunaga.
After having a buddy lunch with Matsunaga-san once, he often talks to me even when he's at work. He's also the new unit leader, so I interviewed him in between his busy work schedule.

-How are you doing?

I haven't been leaving the house at all, I basically use online supermarkets, and I've only gone shopping about twice in the last month.
I haven't been exercising at all, so I thought I should make a conscious effort to do more exercise, and now I'm doing Billy's Boot Camp with my kids (laughs).

-Billy's Boot Camp brings back memories (laughs). How is work going?

The job is easier than I thought it would be. It might even be better than working at a company.
We're trying out various things, such as communicating using an app called Remo.
It's great that many of our clients are enthusiastic about online meetings. It may be better to have in-person meetings to discuss in-depth topics, but for now it's fine.

-Are you having any problems?

I guess it's because there's less work. It's not a particularly exciting time to begin with, but it's hard to make solid sales. I think there are some things that can't be helped, so when I have some free time, I'd like to improve my skills and the skills of my unit members.

Let's do an interview...

Although things have been tough due to the effects of the coronavirus, each member is doing their best to keep up with their work and life, and as we chatted together in the name of the interview, I felt a little at ease.

I think it makes a big difference just being able to see what other people are doing and see their faces, and I hope I can hear more stories from various members.
