A website that everyone can be proud of
~Interview with Tokyo Kantei Co., Ltd.~

Our BtoB team works daily to propose website creation specifically for BtoB companies. As part of that activity, we visit companies that we have worked on renovating and interview them to look back on the project.

Our partner was Tokyo Kantei Co., Ltd., which completed the renewal of its corporate website in March of this year. Headquartered in Shinagawa Ward, the company provides real estate data services and real estate consulting.

Why did you choose Monosus to create your website this time?
The project's director, Oyabuchi, and sales representative, Sakamoto, will be speaking with Tokyo Kantei's Nagata, Ide, and Yoshida about the background to the renewal, behind-the-scenes stories from the production, and the response since the site was launched.

It all started with an internal survey.

Sakamoto : Thank you for joining us today. First of all, I would like to ask you about the reason for the renewal. What was the background to the start of the renewal?

Mr. Yoshida: Once a year, we have an opportunity to review our services within the company. We survey employees and collect their opinions on how we can improve our services.

Sakamoto: So there is an opportunity like that.

Yoshida: We are reviewing and improving not only the data products that our company sells, but all of our services. In the survey, many people said things like, "Isn't our website outdated?" and "Is the current website okay?"

Sakamoto: I see.

Yoshida: Until now, the website was in charge of the Market Research Department, of which Ide is a member, but its main responsibility was managing the content called "Market Reports."
To begin with, the company did not have a comprehensive system in place for updating and managing the website.

Sakamoto: From there, how did you go about finding a production company?

Since Yoshida and Ide's main job is not to be in charge of the website, it was difficult for them to find a production company.

At first, I started by searching the internet to find out "what kind of web production companies are out there" and "what's the state of corporate websites these days?" When you search for the keyword "web production," you get a huge number of hits, and I looked at each site one by one.

Sakamoto: That was the first hurdle.
So how did you find Monosus in that situation?

Mr. Nagata: I was looking for a company that specializes in B2B.
I also looked at the size of the company and what their website was like.

Our company has little knowledge about website renewal, so we were looking for a company that could handle not only the production part but also a solid support system, and that's when we came across Monosus.
Monosus' website had well-organized information about BtoB, and their track record matched our company's style, so we decided to hear more about them.

"Let's try something new"
The employees' consciousness became one.

Sakamoto: What was your impression of the presentation?

Mr. Nagata: Our company's orientation wasn't that in-depth, so to be honest, the first presentation I received was pretty standard. I had the impression that I wondered how things would change from there.

When Ide-san showed us your past achievements, it was easy to imagine what it would be like if it were a Tokyo Kantei site. That was also a big help.

Yoshida: That's right. I felt like there was a possibility. I could imagine how things would change.

Sakamoto: Thank you for your valuable opinion.
From there, Oyabuchi joined as director and the project began, but were there any difficulties you faced or anything that stood out to you since the project began?

My first impression of Yoshida and Oyabuchi was that they looked a bit low-spirited (laughs).
However, as the project progressed, I felt at ease. He kept in touch with us frequently and was considerate of us as we proceeded. We were unfamiliar with the process and didn't know how to proceed, so we are very grateful to Mr. Oyabu for supporting us.

Thank you Oyabu . I'm happy.

Mr. Yoshida, coordinating the work within the company must have been difficult. More than I expected...
In the end, we had no choice but to have someone wave the flag and push forward, so we couldn't have done it without the momentum of "Let's go all out!" and I don't think we would have been able to do it without Mr. Oyabuchi, who supported us so well.

Thank you Oyabu .

Yoshida: Now that I think about it, I had a dispute with another person in charge at the company towards the end of production. We had a direct conflict of opinion about what we could do within the limited schedule and what we still wanted to do. So there was a period when we didn't speak to each other for about a week (laughs).

Sakamoto: That's because you have a strong desire for renewal.
If the person in charge doesn't have any passion, there won't be any arguments. If they have passion, we will do our best to help them realize it.

Yoshida: There was a desire to "do something new together."

For this renewal, we asked our employees who work hard every day on the front lines to write articles. They all felt the enthusiasm of the site and did their best. Compiling them was a heavy task, but I'm glad I did it.

Mr. Ide: It felt like the company had come together.

Yoshida: Ultimately, I think many employees actively participated.

Mr. Ide: As a company gets bigger, the number of departments increases, and there aren't many opportunities for employees to all face the same direction. This was one such opportunity.

Yoshida: That's true. It turned out to be a good result.

Mr. Ide , Yoshida really worked up a sweat this time.

Yoshida-san : It must be hard to lead the team. That's what I felt this time.
Every company says things like "internal coordination is difficult" or "they got criticized by higher-ups," but I thought that this was really true.

Sakamoto: We were all excited too. Today was the day the chairman was going to confirm it.

Yoshida-san's reputation was good. You don't have to worry (laughs).

Both externally and internally.

Sakamoto: The website went through a variety of processes before it was released, but did you receive any opinions or feedback from both inside and outside the company?

Mr. Ide: We've received praise from people outside the company, who say things like, "It's a very beautiful design," and "It's now compatible with smartphones and tablets, making it easier to view."

Yoshida: Speaking of within the company, a female employee who I normally have no contact with told me, "I'm glad the website has become more beautiful."
He immediately gave his opinion on the spot, saying, "I would like to change the wording of this part of the text like this." It seems that he is looking at the website with that kind of awareness.

We have employees in various positions, including full-time employees, contract employees, and temporary employees, but I think they are all feeling proud that the website for the company they work for has now been improved.

After all, when people search online for the company you work for, it's definitely better if the website has a nice design, is packed with content, and conveys its appeal. It will also change attitudes within the company.

Sakamoto: Although a website is basically intended for external parties, it also has an "internal" side.

I think that a perspective unique to B2B is whether the site is something that employees would want to show to their families. It's a huge change that people within the company have started to take an interest in it.

Yoshida : After the renewal, I realized that "it's not just about creating the website." What can we do to make the website even better in the future? I think that's the important thing.

Sakamoto: That's true.
Next time, we will bring you an access analysis report and suggest how to improve it. We are looking forward to seeing how it will change from now on.
