A new series called "Monosasu's Shichi-Go-San" has started on the Monosasu website.
Just as we celebrate the milestones of our children, we want to celebrate the fact that Monosus members continue to work together! So, we take portraits to commemorate the 3rd, 5th, and 7th anniversaries of working at Monosus.
Photographer Kawase Kazue took photos of the third-year members who gathered at the Yoyogi office in Tokyo.
"Let's take a photo here, Harada!" So we had Harada, a director in his third year at Monosus, take a great photo.
Along with photos, we would like to share the conversation we had with Mr. Harada that day.
- Harada-san, you've been at the office a lot lately.
I can concentrate better at work than at home.
- You're here pretty early in the morning.
Recently, I've been coming here first thing in the morning. I used to be the kind of guy who would finish all my work by 9am. I'd finish the things that absolutely have to be done first, so that I could respond to any inquiries that came in right away. But lately, I've been kind of busy. I haven't been able to finish my work in a day.
- What kind of work do you do, Harada-san?
I sometimes act as a director, but these days I spend most of my time coding.
- When I come to the company, I see you quietly coding. So you also do direction.
I like it. Rather than doing something myself and saying "I did it!", I'm the type of person who gets excited when other people contact me and say "I did it!"
- I'm happy when I hear "I did it!"
I think a good relationship is when I don't give detailed instructions and let the person think about it and do their best 100%. That way, there aren't many disappointing things. Maybe it's just that my eyes have low resolution.
- Do you alternate between direction and coding for each project?
I can only do one or the other in a day. If I'm coding, I'm coding. If I'm directing, I'm directing. Because of my personality, I end up doing things half-heartedly.
The way we interact with customers is completely different. In coding, the requirements are already set, and our job is to make them a reality. In direction, we start by clarifying the issues, such as, "What do we want to do?"
- Harada-san, I have the impression that you are good at thinking about things by asking, "Why in the first place?"
What can I say? There's no point in overturning what has been done up to the coding stage, and if you keep going back to the premise even though the other party doesn't want you to, you won't get any work done. That may be what I've learned in the past few years.
My goal this year is to focus on one job and do it perfectly. Instead of working like I'm in a rush to consume time, I want to focus on one job.
- You have clearly defined your goals for this year.
By the way, I was not able to achieve this last year. I had decided to win the company's MVP award three times, but in the end I was not asked to do so even once.
- I hope I can win this year. You've been working at Monosus for three years now. What do you think, Mr. Harada, who has had a variety of job experiences? Monosus.
I think it's half a fit. The other half is that they dislike me. At first, I thought it was a company where each individual could do whatever they wanted, but I think it's important to properly acquire your own skills within the framework.
Recently, not many people come to the office, so I use this space as if it were my own. It's almost like I'm the voice of Monosus in Yoyogi. Well, that's fine.
Harada-san is someone who can express her thoughts to others honestly. Rather than being annoyed by her, it seems that this character has completely taken root in her.
By the way, Harada-san went on to win the MVP award after that ◎
Finally, here's one more great photo.
Harada-san, we look forward to working with you in the future.
