His last name is rarely called just once, "Igeta." His first name is "Satoru."
When typing a surname in an email, it is often mistaken for the kanji character "keta" (digit), which is made up of a "wooden" character and a "row" character and is used to indicate the number of digits in a number.
The correct word is "ige" with the "earth" radical and "row".
In kun reading it is pronounced "kake", and there is a place name "Kagake" in Saitama Prefecture, and although it is not a common kanji because of the place name, it is registered as a second-level kanji.
Therefore, it is said that this kanji is rare both nationwide and in Saitama.
The surname "Igeda" is apparently a rare surname found in Saitama Prefecture and other areas, but it is unclear why "Ige" is pronounced "Ige."
The conversation seems to be going off track, so let's get back on track.
This time, I, Kurihara, who claims to be the person who has had the most private time hanging out with Gouda, will be introducing you to Gouda Satoru, a member of the WS club who seems easy to grasp but is actually quite elusive.
I rely on Gota who never says no.
Igeta at work
He originally joined the company as a coder, but recently he has also taken on the role of director and manager of junior members, steadily expanding the scope of his work.
By nature, Gouda is very kind and honest. Therefore, when I ask him for something, he says "Yes, I understand!" and accepts it with a smile. Recently, my thoughts have been "Let's ask Gouda for help", so I have to be careful not to rely on him too much.
The reason why it's easy to ask for help is that by simply telling them two or three things, they can convey ten things, and they will follow through on what you ask of them.
When I first joined the company, I would tell them everything from A to Z, check on the situation at key points, and work closely with them to get the job done. But now, my ability to grasp things has improved dramatically.
This is something he himself said, "I've become able to visualize the entire process of what I'm asked to do."
When I heard this tear-jerking comment, I was very happy and felt that he had become a very reliable and important presence.
This is the result of Goto's own continued evolution, and I think this is because he is able to make use of the various experiences he has accumulated up to now and apply them to respond to situations.
As mentioned above, she has a very "honest" side, but surprisingly (I can't find the right word) she also has a "stubborn" side.
Generally, they understand and accept most things.
But sometimes, there are times when I touch upon a firm core within Gota, and at those times, he listens to other people's opinions, but stubbornly refuses to accept them.
For example, when you say, "I think this is a better way to do it,"
"I think it's better to proceed like this."
When I ask "Why is that?", they give me a clear answer. However, when I think about it from a broader perspective, I say "Isn't this better?"
The typical response is something unsatisfying like, "Ah, yes...", and the person just brushes it off.
It is possible that there is some real reason within Gouda himself other than what he expresses verbally, but he is deliberately not showing it, or he has kept it hidden inside and has not yet realized it... Or perhaps it is to avoid conflict (discussion), but this is still one of the seven mysteries of Gouda.
I'm sure there must be a reason that was derived from his own experience. I personally think that people should express their thoughts in words and communicate them properly, regardless of what others think.
I've written this in a very abstract way, but what I wanted to convey here is that although Gotanda may seem fluffy at first glance, he has a strong core that thinks things through and thinks things through in his own way, and he judges the right and wrong of things based on that core, making him a very strong man.
A man who is loved by everyone is surprisingly talkative.
A short hike to see the frozen waterfall deep in the mountains
My relationship with Goto has been going on for about four years since he joined the company.
After joining the company, we worked together in Tokyo for a few years, but we didn't have much direct contact. When we opened the Kamiyama satellite office in 2017, we asked Mr. Gotanda, who was working in Tokyo (Yoyogi), to move to Kamiyama and help set up the Kamiyama office, and we began to have more direct contact.
Even when we were in Tokyo, I thought that I and Gota were quite talkative, but since coming to Kamiyama, we started seeing each other more not only on work days but also on our days off, and the opportunities to talk increased proportionately.
The thing I feel most strongly about this is that Gota is loved by everyone.
Is it the unique aura that Gota exudes, or is it his gentle demeanor that makes him this way?
One thing that can be said is that Gota doesn't make people feel uncomfortable.
This is actually quite an amazing thing, and not something that just anyone can do.
One of the members once said this about Gota:
"Mr. Koda has excellent communication skills."
Until now, I had never thought of Gouda as having either high or low communication skills, so this was an unexpected comment that made me realize something new about him.
Thinking back carefully, it seems that normally, it's rare for Gouda to talk about or ask questions about anything other than work, and I think that's the image that everyone around him has.
However, when I start talking to him, he listens to me carefully and responds with a slightly exaggerated reaction (although I don't think he's aware of it).
I don't know if this is because he has high communication skills, but perhaps his reactions are pleasant, but I think there are a lot of people who visit him outside of work (and talk to him).
So every day in the office, you can hear the voices of people reacting and laughing. Although he is a good listener, he can become talkative depending on the circumstances.
Since he is usually (at work) always surrounded by many people, you don't often see him talking, but when there are fewer people around you you can see him being very talkative.
To be more specific, even if there are only a small number of people, four is not good; three is when the switch comes on.
This depends on the members who accompany him, but it is thought to be a natural phenomenon in which he analyzes the atmosphere of the place and the characters of the people involved, decides on his own role, and does so naturally.
In this way, Gota is always very sensitive to the atmosphere around him, and although he himself may not mean to do so, his body seems to move naturally to create a positive atmosphere in the situation.
Because they are very caring and considerate of those around them, they must be extremely tired at the end of the day.
I think this is probably true because I often get turned down when I ask someone out two days in a row.
I'm sorry for always making you worry. Thank you.
A man who never forgets gratitude
There is one episode that perfectly illustrates Gota's character.
He usually has a gentle personality and doesn't get irritated easily, but I've heard that he can get annoyed when his juniors speak to him in a casual manner.
Perhaps because he is such a hidden (?) athlete, he is the type of person who always returns favors.
For example, when a member of the Yoyogi office sent us some Tokyo-exclusive sweets that were not available in Kamiyama, we returned the favor by sending back some Kamiyama town specialty products.
In this day and age, I think there are very few people who are able to properly express their gratitude to others.
It's really very solid in that respect.
Previously, when Goto was awarded the monthly MVP award, a cardboard box arrived at the Kamiyama office from Goto, who was staying in Tokyo.
When I opened it, I found that it was Soka Senbei rice crackers from Gota's hometown of Soka City.
When asked, he said, "I received the MVP award thanks to everyone, so this is my way of thanking them."
What's more, inside the cardboard box was a stylish electric kettle.
There was an electric kettle in the Kamiyama office, but it was always in a bad mood because it would sometimes turn on and sometimes not.
Knowing this, Gotanda bought it for me with the prize money given to the MVP award winner.
High-end electric kettle
If you take into account an electric kettle, various snacks, and shipping costs, the total will easily exceed the MVP prize money.
Rather than going out to eat something delicious as a reward for himself, winning the award has actually ended up costing him a lot of money...
Is it generosity or clumsiness? Sometimes the recipient is left perplexed, thinking, "How can I have something so good?"
We all use the kettle every day and it's a great help. Thank you.
lastly.
Igeta in winter. Does he look fat?
As I was writing this article, I thought a lot about the person called Gouda Satoru, and while I felt like I had a grasp of him, there were also some aspects that felt vague and impossible to grasp.
Although he doesn't talk much and is willing to listen to other people's opinions, Gota has a firm and unyielding core.
Even when he talks, it seems like there are times when he keeps his true feelings hidden inside. Even when he expresses them in writing, it's very abstract.
Gota's posts on social media are often poetic, making it difficult to understand his true feelings.
I think he's posting because he has something on his mind...
If we turn our backs on things we don't understand, we'll be further from the real answer...
That being said, it can be tough to keep facing everything honestly, even if it's the true answer. The latter may look like running away from others, but I think it's also one way of living like a human being. In other words, life goes well and badly. #Well, let's just live life as it is. #Deep involvement can be good or bad. #Being strong is one step away from being weak.
I sometimes get startled, thinking that everything is being directed at me.
I wonder if I said it in the wrong way. It makes me feel nervous.
Sometimes I want you to tell me your true feelings directly. Even if it's just a little at a time, it's fine.
At the very end.
Putting myself in the shoes of Gota's parents, I searched the topic of naming and tried to think about the meaning behind the name "Satoru."
First, the meaning of the kanji character "satoru."
To suddenly realize something. To wake up to the truth. To understand. To be quick to understand. To be wise.
This seemed a bit difficult, so I looked up the meaning further and found the following:
"Intelligent and clever" and "sensitive" express hopes that the child will grow up to be intelligent and clever, have good judgment, and be able to observe his or her surroundings and take action before others.
When I looked up the meaning, it somehow made sense to me.
I think the following parts are especially characteristic of Gota.
A child who can look around and act proactively
I believe that right now he is identifying the essence of the situation and exploring various paths, but he has created an environment and relationships that allow him to hear things from people both inside and outside the company, so I would like him to listen to a variety of opinions, choose his own path, and move forward.
To be honest, I wonder how open he is with me.
It's not necessary to be 100% open, and I feel like it would be lonely if it was only 50%.
I would like to continue watching Gouda Satoru in the future. As someone who teases Gouda (laughs).
Staying at the Kamiyama satellite office. Dinner with members and their families.
