MONOSUS

From her, who looks like a monosassy,
Thinking about what makes Monosus unique
- Yukari Furuhat -

This corner introduces the company's members. The first one to be featured is Yukari Furuhat from the Marketing Department. Why is she the first to appear? Is she a marketer with such amazing skills that even crying children will be silenced? Is she a hidden push because she is the president's favorite? No, no, it seems that the reason is that she is "Monosus-like." We took a peek at the secret behind Furuhat's "Monosus-likeness," who has supported Monosus since its founding.

A monosas person who everyone nods in agreement with.

She is a "monosus-like person."
To give you an idea of how Monosus-like they are, they have won the "Best Monosasist" award at the annual Monosus Awards at the end of the year every year since the first awards, quickly earning them a place in the hall of fame.

*The Best Monosassist is an award given to the person who is the most Monosass-like, someone who is incomprehensible to people outside the company (even internal members cannot explain it well, but who can easily understand it intuitively).

Writing that she has been a member of Monosas since its inception and was inducted into the group's first Hall of Fame as Best Monosasist may make her sound quite impressive, but in reality she is quite soft (or rather squishy) and not at all "amazing."

Playing with the cats on Zamami Island. A scene from a company trip.

While listening to her favorite music, she gets excited when she finds an interesting vending machine, her eyes light up when she eats Neapolitan pasta at a coffee shop, and she sits down when she sees a cat. She's a slender, stylish woman who looks good in denim, but she secretly wears a yokai patch. And it suits her. She wears Hemingway on her travels, but she's not fond of playing explorers. But she falls over easily.

Even though they are adults, they don't seem "adult-like" at all.
It seems like she has a gentle distance from the plausible notions of "how things should be" that exist in the world. She doesn't see others through the lens of "how things should be," so you naturally relax and unwind. She's such a mysterious person.

Although it is a company, it doesn't feel like a company.
Monosas and her, who are often described as such, may indeed be a bit similar.

I want to eat delicious snacks with everyone

She has worked in a variety of jobs at Monosus, which started out in a small room. She has worked in the call center, editing and writing newsletters, managing and directing sales, finding furniture for the office, and even working as a chef's right-hand man for anniversary parties. Although it's not exactly a one-stop shop that focuses on one thing, she can be found here and there throughout Monosus's history.

Monosus has many job titles, such as designers and coders, but there are many areas in the company that cannot be filled by "job titles" alone. She may be the one who has been most responsible for those "important things that are hard to define as work". And I think that this is what makes Monosus unique.

To make the place where you work a little more fun and comfortable.
She cares about not only her fellow Monosus staff, but also the cats that gather around her, the trees in the garden, the chairs, and the pots in the kitchen. She's not the type to take the lead and push things forward, but she'll gently help out if someone is in trouble, and she takes the initiative to enjoy exciting things.

She is someone who is able to immerse herself in her work without being distracted, but who naturally thinks that if she finds a delicious snack, she wants to share it with everyone. Looking at her, I think that Monosus is not only a "workplace," but also a "place where we live together."

Change is exciting but fun

It's a bit surprising to hear that she ended up joining Monosus "somehow."

During his student days, his dream of working in the music industry didn't come true, so he worked diligently in another industry, but after a while he got bored and, between you and me, he quit both his previous company and the one before that because he "got bored." (He says that if you do the same thing for a long time, you eventually get bored.) However, through a connection made from there, he met the company's president, Hayashi, and became a member of Monosus from its founding.

More than 10 years have passed since then, but she says she never tires of Monosus.

There were a lot of crazy things, and some hellish scenes that made me want to stay at home, but more than that, there were lots of fun times, laughing, feeling emotional, eating, drinking, etc. I didn't have time to think "I'm bored" because of the excitement of not knowing what's going to happen next, and it's already been 10 years. I think it's interesting that Monosus will continue to change from now on.

During a visit to Kamiyama Town, Tokushima Prefecture in October 2015.

She has a soft appearance and people secretly whisper about her as a "fairy," but she's surprisingly tough. Surprisingly adventurous. Today, as I strolled around Yoyogi with a big grin on my face, I think she really is "Monosus-like."

How to create good blood circulation with members and other people involved? How can we deepen our relationships to do better work? While thinking about this, we introduce the people and work of Monosus. The secretariat has approximately five members. I love eating a lot.
