Enjoy working
~After Akane Saito's Kamiyama Monosasu School~

Completed "Kamiyama Monosasu School"
Looking back over the past five months

The Monosasu Juku program in Kamiyama Town, which began in November last year, concluded amid a landscape of cherry blossoms close to full bloom.
The graduation ceremony was held on March 31st, and the representative, Hayashi, handed out a certificate to each student. Everyone was studying with determination, bearing the burden of their own lives and the lives of their families. I thought it was wonderful that they made the most of the environment, enjoyed their work (HTML coding), and tried to pursue it further. Looking back on their five months at Monosasu Juku, everyone said that it was a fun time where they could study together with their classmates.

One day a week, the instructor, Maruyama, devised a "Power Up Day" where students could study at their own level apart from the general classes. During this day, they exchanged ideas and held "study sessions" outside of class, naturally building the teamwork that will be necessary for their future work.
In this way, the Monosasu Juku has increased the number of "friends who enjoy coding," as the headquarters coding team wanted to convey.
After the ceremony, the students were given a gift and a colored paper to show their appreciation to the instructor, Maruyama. The atmosphere was not solemn, but rather full of laughter, which is typical of Monosasu Juku.

The presents (colored paper and MacBook case) presentation ceremony was held.

It was like a press conference.

The first attempt, the Kamiyama Monosasu Juku, has ended successfully, and I believe that what each and every person involved felt and learned will be carried forward into the future.

Enjoy life

I was born and raised in Tokyo, and my grandparents are also from Tokyo, so living in a place surrounded by mountains and nature was a first for me.
First, they lived in a training camp on top of a mountain, then in a vacant house, and finally in a shared house called Yamauba, a renovated old house that is also planned to be operated as a guesthouse.

The last house they lived in was a 190-year-old traditional house.

Living in an old house, especially with a wood-burning bath and wood-burning stove, can often be a hassle, as water pipes can freeze. There were also many visitors and events, so it was normal to be busy preparing for them.
However, the residents rarely discussed among themselves to decide on any rules. Everyone did what they could and showed their gratitude. Then things went smoothly. With just these simple actions, they were able to live a secure life.

We hear about the history of the renovation from the couple who spent 10 years renovating the Yamauba, which was in a state where it was no longer livable. At an event to learn about the history of Yamauba renovations.

Over these past five months, I have met a truly diverse range of people, and I have had the opportunity to see their values, work styles, lifestyles, and overall way of life. Living in Tokyo, it's rare to have the opportunity to listen to such in-depth conversations, but in Kamiyama, I think I was exposed to such topics every day. I feel that there is a place for everyone, and I feel that Kamiyama is a place that accepts people who have found their place and are setting out on a journey, people who are still undecided, and people who want to settle in the community.

At first, I went to the Kamiyama training with the intention of only learning some skills.
However, I met students who seemed to enjoy studying, local people who looked after their lives, and people who coexisted with me as a worker. In the end, every hour was a learning experience.
We spend most of our time at work and in our daily lives. How to spend time with a smile. How natural it is, and how to live while feeling truly alive, is what I learned most.

I am ever grateful to the company for allowing me to attend the training even though I am not a member of a coding team, to the team members who sent me off, and to the many people I met in Kamiyama. However, my current challenge is to find how I can make use of and put to good use what I have gained during the time I have been given.

The office is located in a corner of a charming street.

Once the Kamiyama office is fully operational and connected to Tokyo more than ever before, I look forward to experiencing a new style of work and life.
