MONOSUS
ICECREAMING MAG

Spring awakening begins with the Japanese quince.
~ "Quote of the Day" from the Monosus morning assembly ~

"Quote of the Day" is announced every morning at Monosus' morning assembly.
Executives, department heads, and leaders take turns sharing little tales each day.

The topics range from useful tips for work to thoughts you may have in your daily life. The talks are full of the personality of each speaker, providing the essence to start your day feeling good.

This month we will also be introducing a little bit of it on the Monosasu website.
The guests are Manabe, the head of the production department, Nishijo, the leader of the direction team, and Vice President Nagai.

So, let's begin "Quote of the Day"...

Evolution begins when we "cannot understand each other"

Presenter
Taichi Manabe (Director of Production Department/Manager of Food Hub Project Inc.)

There was a line in a movie I saw recently:

"When you feel that you are so different from other people that you can never understand each other.
Perhaps there is a reason for life here. Diversity is the driving force behind human evolution.
In order to evolve, we need elements that are different from ourselves.”

If you can see that, you can evolve.

When I work with different teams and people, I sometimes wonder, "Why is it so hard for us to understand each other?"
That's exactly how I feel right now... (laughs)

At that time, instead of denying the other person or denying yourself,
Whether we can recognize this as a time for evolution.
I think how you deal with that discomfort is very important.

This is exactly what is happening at the Food Hub Project.
It seems like they're doing some pretty interesting things from an industry perspective.

These are two bakers with impressive careers who have made bread using completely opposite methods.
Normally they would have clashed, but from the very start they enjoyed their differences,
I'm trying to make bread that's in the middle, not the bread I want to bake.

While fusing our differences, we thought about what kind of bread would suit the land of Kamiyama.
The result is incredibly delicious and new types of bread are being created.
I find it fascinating to watch how it becomes integrated into the town.

So, if you feel like you can't understand each other...

Timing of evolution for "yourself" Timing of evolution for "things" Timing of evolution for "team"

If we can face each other with this mindset, I believe we will be able to see a world that was previously invisible.

So, next time I'll send you some bread (laughs).

Can this be automated? Can't this be automated?

Presenter
Hiroaki Nishijo (Direction Team Leader)

Actually, I take vocal lessons as a hobby.
I learned something from my trainer the other day that I thought could be useful for work, so I'd like to share it with you.

There are two types of human behavior:
There are cars that can be driven automatically and cars that can only be driven manually.

Autonomous driving is something you can do without thinking.
For vocals, posture, opening your throat, abdominal breathing, and other things can be done unconsciously through daily training. For work, it's something like typing "hello" on a keyboard.

On the other hand, manual driving is something that you can't do without thinking.
This is the part that involves "expression," which requires thought, such as how to convey this emotion through a song, or how to write an email to a client.

I think this way of thinking can be applied to my everyday work as well.

"Can this be automated?"
"It's not possible to automate it right now, but I think I can if I try a little harder."

By separating what can be automated with practice from what cannot, you can increase your productivity. As a result, you can spend more time on expression, which I think leads to higher quality output.

It's a small thing, but I thought it would be interesting to bring it up so that people would be aware of "automated driving" and "manual driving" in the context of their own work.

Try expressing "This is what I want to do"

Presenter
Tomoko Nagai (Executive Vice President)

The US presidential election was amazing.
As I was watching all the turmoil that has been going on every day and everything surrounding the current governor, a thought suddenly occurred to me.

What I mean is that it's quite difficult to say out loud "This is what I think" about something that no one has ever said before.

Putting the content aside, when you take a step forward, it is impossible to have 100% approval.
However, when you try to do something new, there is always some friction.

This is true in everyday life too. For example, the full flextime system has started,
What kind of reaction will people get if I say, "I want to come to work at a certain time?"
Are you causing trouble to anyone? Are you creating an environment where that is welcomed?
I think there are many reasons.

But I just hope people don't get afraid of that sort of thing.
By expressing what I want to do, the relationship changes from there.
It's often difficult to change the way we've always interacted,
I think that from there we can take a step forward towards a new cooperative relationship.

Of course, insisting on only what you want to do will only create friction,
Maybe we should try to think carefully about how we can build a cooperative relationship.

We will create a new cooperative relationship together while also expressing our own ideas.
I would like people to try things like that little by little.

Well, have a great day today.

The start of spring is still unsettled, with warm weather appearing one moment and then suddenly turning cold.
Even when you're still feeling a little sleepy, listening to morning chimes can wake you up right away.
It seems to be one of the switches that puts us into work mode.

So, what kind of stories will come out tomorrow?
It's so much fun.

Well, have a great day everyone today.

Monosus Site Team

How to create good blood circulation with members and other people involved? How can we deepen our relationships to do better work? While thinking about this, we introduce the people and work of Monosus. The secretariat has approximately five members. I love eating a lot.
