Hello. I am Ito, the principal of Kamiyama Monosasu Juku.
The 4th term of the Kamiyama Monosasu School has finally begun. This year, it started in September, a little later than usual. From now on, it will continue nonstop for the next 4 months!
This time, we would like to report on the first day, which was an action-packed day from the entrance ceremony to the social gathering.
Aiming to become an "engineer" who will play an active role in the future web industry
Kamiyama Monosasu Juku is now in its fourth year. In the first term, students learned "coding", in the second term "coding" and "web writing", and in the third term, they learned a wide range of skills to become a "front-end engineer". This year, the fourth term, we will develop an even more powerful curriculum to nurture "web engineers" who will be active in the web industry in the future.
Nine students gathered in Kamiyama with the dream of becoming web engineers. They came from all over the country, with different places they had lived and jobs. For the first month, they will all live together, learning, playing, and competing with each other, all while working towards graduation in December.
Entrance ceremony. This year, the traditional self-introduction event was held again.
Finally, the day of the entrance ceremony arrived. We were worried about what would happen with the approaching typhoon, but we were relieved to see that the weather was calm. To celebrate the students' graduation, the ceremony started off lively with the participation of Kojima, the head of the Coding Factory Department, members of the Kamiyama Satellite Office, Manabe, the manager of the Food Hub Project, and CEO Hayashi via video conference from Yoyogi.
After the opening greetings, we immediately moved on to the annual "self-introduction session."
As I, the moderator, randomly selected students, the students were excited (or nervous?) as they made their presentations. From firm statements of intent to moments of laughter, the self-introduction time allowed each student's personality to shine through.
After the nine students finished introducing themselves, the baton was passed to the Monosasu members: Kurihara, who leads the Kamiyama Satellite Office, the satellite members, and Manabe, manager of the Food Hub. Then, CEO Hayashi, who participated via video conference, sent a message saying, "I believe this seminar will be a turning point in your lives, but it is up to you to make the change."
Students listening to Hayashi's message
After moving outside for commemorative photographs, Kojima, head of the Coding Factory Division, who had rushed over from Yoyogi, gave a closing speech.
Kojima's words: "I want everyone to learn so they don't have any regrets"
"This cram school is a truly valuable opportunity to study intensively in an environment that would be impossible to find if you were living an ordinary life. I want everyone to concentrate more than they've ever done before in their lives, and study in a way that they will have no regrets."
A passionate message from Kojima, who loves coding.
The entrance ceremony ended without a hitch in a homely atmosphere.
The social gathering will be held at Kamaya again this year.
Next up was the long-awaited social gathering. We were once again indebted to the Food Hub! The venue was the familiar "Shokudo Kamaya." A wide variety of dishes made with plenty of local ingredients were lined up. With some drinks in hand, the lively time began.
Thank you for your hard work at the entrance ceremony! Cheers!!!
The "Sudachi Chicken Tempura Burger" made with Kamiyama chicken is delicious. A mountain of delicious looking delicacies.
While we were enjoying the delicious food, the "Russian Roulette Inari" appeared. It is a thrilling project in which unexpected things are inside the inaris lined up in a row. However, the contents are pickled plums, sudachi citrus, kyarabuki, and other things that are specialties of Kamiyama. We were saying that it would be delicious even if we won, and sure enough, there were also "mustard" and "wasabi" inaris.
Among them, there was even a brave student who managed to hit the mustard and wasabi all by himself (lol). It was a moment filled with laughter. And at the end, the Food Hub staff presented the students with a bag full of "Kamiyama's specialty, Sudachi"! The students will be living together at the Ski Land Hotel from now on. It seems they took the citrus home with them and froze it. Sudachi is delicious!
With our stomachs full, it was time to go. The party came to a close with a closing speech from the Kagawa Satellite Office. Thank you to everyone at Food Hub!
Thus, the first day of the Kamiyama Monosasu Juku ended successfully.
Now, the challenge for the students begins. I will continue to run at full speed for the next four months in order to nurture "web engineers" who will be active in the web industry of the future. What will they feel, what will they learn, and how will they change as they spend their days living in Kamiyama? This year, I hope to be able to share this story in their own words. Please look forward to it!
