Are you all bowling?
On February 21st, the eve of Cat Day, some volunteer members of Monosus participated in the ITS Bowling Tournament.
The members practiced hard for this day in between their work schedules. What was the outcome?
What is the ITS Bowling Tournament?
The ITS Bowling Tournament is sponsored by the Kanto IT Software Health Insurance Association.
Instead of competing with other participants on the spot, participants play three games at the nearest venue during the participation period and compete for the highest score.
The Monosus team chose Sasazuka Bowl, which is a 0-minute walk from Sasazuka Station on the Keio Line. There is also a restaurant inside, so you can enjoy bowling while eating delicious food.
Practice Days
Practice score of the women's team leader, Okuyama. They shared the results in the chat work group and competed with each other!
If you're participating in a tournament, your goal is to win!
To achieve this, we needed to practice, so each member practiced on their own whenever they could.
I also bought my own shoes and have been practicing every day.
The tournament begins!
First of all, let's have a drink. Thank you for your hard work!
Then came February 21st, the day of the tournament.
The plan was to finish work at 7:00 p.m. and have both the women's and men's teams head off to the venue, but the women's team was busy with work...
While the girls' team was frantically trying to get to the venue as quickly as possible, the boys' team was steadily racking up points.
The boys' team started the game early. Look how excited they were!
The results of the first game for the boys were as expected.
Two hours later, the women's team finally arrived at the venue.
The Monosus Bowling Team is finally complete!
Bowling together after work. Tournament or not, it's fun!
By the time we got to the venue, we were starving.
After ordering some drinks and snacks and taking a break, it's time to just keep on throwing, throwing and throwing.
Harazawa from the sales department is happy to get a spare from a difficult pin arrangement. He has such expressive faces.
Since it's a free time system with no other participants, it feels like a group of people have invited each other to go bowling after work.
They high-five every time there's a strike or a spare, and applaud when there's a close call.
Supporters also rushed over and the event proceeded in a friendly atmosphere.
Eventually, they even started making Russian takoyaki, and it became hard to tell whether the atmosphere was a competition or a party.
The usual Russian takoyaki. I got it right. The Tabasco was too spicy...
Every throw brings joy and sorrow.
The boys' team, who finished their game before the girls' team, also joined in the excitement.
Eventually, the members who had come to support us also started wanting to join in, and began throwing in a separate lane.
Katori from the sales department, who had come to support, also couldn't hold back any longer and started the game in a different lane.
End of the tournament
The scores for both the men's and women's teams have been submitted, and now all that's left is to wait for the results.
The boys' team scored well. The girls' team was tired, but with a handicap of 20 pins per game, they still managed to do well.
Now all that's left is to wait for the results to be announced by the tournament headquarters.
Since it was getting late, we dispersed soon after the event, but it was a very enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
Personally, I abstained from drinking alcohol this time because it was a tournament, but I've bought my own bowling shoes, so I think that from now on, bowling while drinking might be a nice way to enjoy myself after work.
What do you think?
