MONOSUS
ICECREAMING MAG

Is it because of all the difficulties that no one can write articles?

Hello. This is Harada from Monosus' Creative Department.
I am currently working as a director, stationed at a client's site. Although I am not able to be at the company very often, I want to do something for Monosas, so I am participating in a meeting to restart the Monosas site.

The Monosasu site updated articles daily until January 2019, but took a break and stopped updating articles.
Two months after the daily updates stopped, we decided to reboot the site once again! Volunteers are meeting regularly to work on improving the site.
I enjoy saying what I want to say in meetings and listening to everyone's opinions, and looking back, I feel like it's helped me grow as a person.
Even though we've been meeting for a long time, "I haven't been able to write an article"
I haven't been able to overcome this big wall. It's not that I can't write, but rather that I'm not even prepared to start writing in the first place. I'm racking my brains over what to do.

I myself have been saying enthusiastically, "Oh, I'll write about it! I'll write about two articles for now," but I haven't been able to start for several months. However, I've been feeling empowered by the recent gathering of monosasu sites, so I thought I might as well write about something I can't write about, and now I'm writing about it.

At Monosasu Site gatherings, including myself, many people say, "Monosasu Site was the reason I joined the company (I hope it will lead to my next good hire)."
I love reading everyone's articles.
"I want to continue to use this site as a benchmark for good circulation and good orders."
"Let's all write it together first."
Everyone is participating with a positive attitude. However, articles are not being produced very quickly.

During the gathering,
"Articles are written during working hours."
"In fact, a lot of people write on their days off," "That's unhappy, isn't it?"
"If I write an article during work hours, what will I do about my work-related productivity during that time?"
"But isn't it hard to work overtime to write?"
There are always times when I feel frustrated and wonder if it will be difficult to encourage all members to write articles.
At the Monosasu site, we are very sensitive about how we can run our media with minimal burden on the company and everyone, and without reducing the productivity of our core business.

I think about this every time, but I haven't yet reached the point where I can decide whether the situation where "people at a web production company are able to comfortably write articles for their owned website as part of their work" is something we can create ourselves, or whether it's a problem that cannot be changed.

Once I start thinking about it, there's no end to it, and I feel like I can hear a voice from heaven telling me to just write it! Although developing an owned media is supposed to be a good thing, it makes me feel like I'm in a bad situation.

A fun yet troubled site meeting

Recently, I came across this blog post. *This is not a quote, but my own summary.

When reptiles flee from predators, they run a little, stop for a bit, then start running again. I think you can imagine this behavior, but research into the mechanism behind this pause has revealed that "in many of these animals, the muscles they use to run are the same as the muscles they use to breathe. They cannot breathe while they are running."
(By the way, the research method was to have the iguanas run on a treadmill. It is pretty horrible to imagine that as the pace increased, it became harder for them to breathe.)
It seems that it has become clear that.
I thought they were checking the situation around them, but in fact it was inevitable that they would die if they didn't stop, so it was inevitable that they would stop for a moment.

When I read the blog article, I only recognized it as a piece of trivia, but when I was ruminating on the difficulty of writing articles at a gathering of ruler sites and how I myself was not able to write, I suddenly thought, "Oh, maybe I'm in the same situation. When I finish running (work) and stop for a moment, the first thing I do is catch my breath. Once I catch my breath, I think I have to start running again." I felt like the trivia and my situation were linked.

"Hmm? So are you running away from something?"
"..."
"Oh, from writing articles!"
But, joking aside,

Maybe the reason I feel like writing articles is hard is because I'm working so hard on the work I've been given that I can't breathe. I saw the Monosus members working hard every day, and I thought, "That must be difficult," and I felt a strange sense of understanding. I also want to be involved with the company through the website, but first I want to work at full speed on the work I've been given as part of my job. Everyone is serious about their work.

Should I slow down my running pace, or try running through a slightly different view once I've caught my breath, or should I shorten the distance I run?But just "running and catching my breath" can actually be quite dangerous.
How can we evolve so that we can breathe while running? In fact, being able to write articles comfortably means a highly productive company (group of people)...

So, everyone! Let's take a break and write an article! (Occasionally, after consulting with the team, of course.)
If you have even the slightest idea about writing an article, please let us know.

Finally, while I was editing this article I reread the reptile article and will quote a part that caught my eye.

The handicap of not being able to run while breathing might have allowed our early ancestors to perform explosive movements at the expense of great exhaustion, but lizards have adapted to this deficiency as best they can: although they need to stop to breathe, when they do move they can move very quickly, making the most of their oxygen-limiting muscle configuration.
