The previous introduction of Monosasu Company Cats was very well received by some cat lovers.
The 10 cats were given food and fresh water every morning and evening, and in winter they were even provided with a shelter to keep them warm. This heavenly treatment must have spread among the stray cat community around Yoyogi, as new cats began to visit one after another, and even some even brought their own families.
And now, we are back with another installment of our company cat introduction. We will also be introducing what happened to the first generation, so please read this article together with the previous one .
"How many company cats can you count?"
Company Cat 2nd Generation
11th: Mitsumame (female)
Origin of the name: It is the child of Mitarashi, so it is part of the Japanese sweets series.
The child of Mitarashi and Masamune. He has a rusty pattern that is strongly influenced by his mother. It's hard to tell from the photo, but he has a mean look in his eyes, just like his mother.
He has been coming to Monosus since he was a kitten, so he is very curious about humans and has a strong sense of curiosity. When I take out a cat toy, he hears the sound and comes running to me no matter how far away it is. He is so close to people that when I reach out my hand, thinking I might be able to pet him, he gives me a high-speed cat punch.
12th: Monaka (male)
Origin of the name: It is the child of Mitarashi, so it is part of the Japanese sweets series.
He is the child of Mitarashi and Masamune and the older or younger brother of Mitsumame. He has a distinctive wispy patch of hair under his chin.
Unlike Mitsumame, he is wary of humans and does not approach them, but he comes to eat food almost every day. Although he is afraid of humans, he loves toys and the two of them roll around and play together. When he became an adult, he was forced to leave by his biological father, Masamune.
13th: Mozuku
Origin of the name: I had just returned from Miyakojima.
He is the child of Mitarashi and (probably) Mochikinchaku, and is the brother of Mukago.
The two appeared at the same time, and Mozuku was the first to let his guard down and take the food. The Monosus staff fell in love with his kitten-like round eyes and innocent mannerisms, and after a bloody capture, they rescued him and kept him as a pet. However, as he grew older, he grew into a big cat that surpassed Masamune and Mochikinchaku, and he abandoned the cuteness of his kittenhood and evolved into a new genre.
14th: Bulb
Origin of the name: This was a forced name inspired by the "M Jinx" (see the previous article , 09. Mochikinchaku).
A sibling of mozuku seaweed. The corm has slightly sharper eyes.
Unlike the curious Mozuku, the Mukago is a cold cat that doesn't give in to our skillful cat teasing techniques, just eats its food and goes home quickly. In other words, Mozuku is an idol type and the Mukago is an intellectual type.
After his partner Mozuku was kidnapped by the Monosus staff, the heartbroken Mukago suddenly disappeared.
15th fish: Mekabu
Origin of the name: My intuition told me that mozuku is actually mekabu.
This poor cat showed up covered in eye mucus due to conjunctivitis, and was called "Meyan, Meyan" despite being named Mekabu. As expected, he was not affectionate enough to warrant eye drops, so we gave him high-quality canned food costing 270 yen a can to build up his strength. As a result, he gradually got better and was reborn as a beautiful cat.
After that, he disappeared for several months, which worried me, but he appeared again in November. However, the conjunctivitis that had been cured with great effort came back with the cold of winter... I had to buy high-quality canned food again.
===========================
We were worried that the cats would grow into a cat house if they continued to grow, but thanks to the TNR activities of local volunteers, the number of cats has stopped. Also, due to territorial disputes, some cats have moved to other places, and some have been promoted to staff pets, so the number of cats living in the company has now settled down to 2-3.
*TNR is trapping, neutering, and then returning the animals to their original location.
This activity aims to prevent trouble with local residents by curbing the indiscriminate breeding of stray cats, and by accepting them as local cats, it reduces the number of cats that are euthanized.
Among them, what are the former company cats that were adopted by staff members and are now doing?
As a bonus, this time we will also introduce how, despite their many twists and turns, they are now living a life filled with happiness.
Company Cat Now
02nd: Mikeko's Aftermath
Although he was able to become a pet cat after the bloody urine incident, he did not get along with the resident cat at the staff home and was bullied by the staff, so he was taken to another staff member's home. Without shedding a tear for his previous owner, he quickly got used to his new owner and lived a contented life as a pet cat.
However, last year, he developed severe anemia for unknown reasons. He refused to eat and lost weight rapidly, and at one point was even told he had only a short time left to live, but thanks to the loving care of his new owner and desperate tests at the veterinary hospital, it was miraculously discovered that he had a disease called "feline haemobartonellosis," a disease you'll want to read out loud about. With the right treatment, he is now in remission and has returned to being the plump, lively calico cat he was before. How dramatic!!
The 13th one: Mozuku
With a face as cute as any idol's, she has completely blown away the preconceived notions that she would definitely grow into a beautiful cat in the future, and now, two years later, she has grown into an astonishingly large cat.
When he first became a pet cat, he was completely unfamiliar with people and spent a month holed up in the litter box. However, the resident cat took it upon himself to take care of him step by step, and he was able to escape his reclusive lifestyle and make his debut as a pet cat.
However, as a result, Mozuku fell in love with the resident cat (male) and a forbidden love was born where he stalks the resident cat all day and night wherever he goes. Even now, the two big males, weighing over 5kg, spend their days getting cozy with each other, ignoring humans and female cats.
