I am Nozomi Nakajima, who runs the Monosasu website. We are pleased to announce that we will be starting a new series.
The Shichi-Go-San festival is a celebration of children's growth so that they may continue to live in good health. In my hometown, there is a custom of holding a ceremony like a wedding reception, with around 100 people gathering together, and I remember having a big party when I was a child.
Nowadays, it is common to visit shrines and take photos there.
Just like celebrating a child's milestone, let's celebrate the Monosus members continuing to work together! So, we have started taking portrait photos to commemorate the 3rd, 5th, and 7th anniversaries of working at Monosus.
On this day, four members, all in their third year, gathered at the office in Yoyogi, Tokyo.
The person we asked to take the photos this time was Kawase Kazue .
Kawase takes photos of the embarrassed members, who exclaim, "Hehehe" and "That's nice."
First up is Sugie-san (nicknamed Pee-chan), a third-year director at Monosus. We snapped a photo of him after finding a cone of the same color as his red sweater.
I'd like to share some of the conversations I had with Pee-chan that day, along with some photos that were taken.
- How has it been since you joined Monosus three years ago?
I was supposed to join the secondment team when I joined the company. However, I wasn't ready for a lot of things, and there was a period of about two months when I couldn't join the team. I was nervous because I thought they were running a background check on me behind the scenes.
- That's what happened.
I had a lot of free time, so I was invited to come to Kamiyama, but there wasn't anything in particular to do. I was told to do whatever I wanted. I asked Nakano-san, who is in charge of processed foods, to help make Kamiyama Mate, and asked Chie-chan if I could help out in the fields. It was all very spontaneous. At first, I wondered if I could really make it in this company.
- It was a life of monotony that started with anxiety.
When I finally joined the team, the way things were done was completely different from the way things were done at the companies I had worked for before. I was just desperate. For about a year, I felt uncomfortable and I couldn't get a feel for it.
After three years, I finally started to understand where I stood, and now I can work calmly.
- What has changed about that?
I think I've come to understand what I'm good at and what is expected of me. I'm the type of person who is happy and improves when I'm praised.
- Imagine being the person in charge of managing the overall schedule and keeping the project moving smoothly.
That's right. I'm good at pushing things forward, or rather, it's easy for me to do that. I'm starting to think that it might be the job for me.
Recently, I've started to feel that this is being appreciated and that people have high expectations of me. The best compliment is when someone says, "It worked out because of me." I feel like I'm still working hard for that.
- Things have been going well lately.
I've gotten so used to the way this team does things that I sometimes wonder if this is the right way to do things. I want to get involved with other teams and not forget that there are other ways of doing things.
− A while ago, we were in a meeting together to decide on the concept for the launch of a project.
That's right. It was a short period of time, but I learned a lot. I usually work on projects where the numbers and shapes are clear and things are moving along smoothly. I realized that phases like that meeting, where you take the time to clarify your thoughts, are also important. When I have a little more time, I'd like to get involved with other teams.
