"Kamiyama Monosasu Juku" is a school where students learn web technology while living in Kamiyama Town, Tokushima Prefecture. Last year, the third time the school was held, students from all over the country learned the curriculum for six months. The students grew strong and successfully graduated in December. This year, they will finally make their Monosasu debut!
The year 2018 has started off with a bang, welcoming a total of seven new members, six from Monosus and one from Monosus Thailand. Starting today, we would like to introduce the new members in two parts.
Let's start with Monosus in Yoyogi.
These are four freshmen who have been assigned to the Coding Factory.
Coding Factory Department
Natsumi Kadowaki
Nickname: Kado
Reasons for joining Monosasusu Juku:
I wanted to learn web production skills.
Things I enjoyed at Monosasusu Juku:
The simple times he spent with the members of "Nishibun House" who he lived with, included taking photos using a two-second self-timer and whisking cream to make butter.
What was hard about Monosasusuku:
Because you spend all your time with the same person, you can no longer hide the things you don't like about yourself, both from others and from yourself.
Anecdotes from life in Kamiyama:
Sometimes it's composted, sometimes it's burned in the fireplace, sometimes it's eaten by animals... It was fun to try and figure out how to dispose of food waste so that it would return to nature.
Future ambitions:
I will follow in the footsteps of my seniors and strive to write clean, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-operate code!
Satoru Uchimura
Nickname: Ucchi
Reasons for joining Monosasusu Juku:
I wanted to learn web skills because I thought it would give me the opportunity to work from anywhere and interact with many different people.
Things I enjoyed at Monosasusu Juku:
Not only did I learn the basics of front-end development, but I also made nine people that I can consider my teammates.
What was hard about Monosasusuku:
Air conditioning...It was tough in the summer. I get hot easily, so the temperature setting in the classroom didn't suit me lol
Anecdotes from life in Kamiyama:
I shared a room with people from outside my company, and thanks to that I got to know a lot of people from Kamiyama, and I also made a lot of friends from other cram schools. I didn't think I'd be able to make so many friends when I was already an old man, so I think I was able to spend time in a really good environment.
Future ambitions:
From now on, I would like to sublimate what I have learned and aim to be one of the first to join the front lines in the field.
Hidenori Hara
Nickname: Hara-chan
Reasons for joining Monosasusu Juku:
I decided to do this because I thought that by adding web creation skills to my existing work experience I would be able to broaden my own possibilities, and because I had always wanted to study the web.
Things I enjoyed at Monosasusu Juku:
I enjoyed studying and drinking with friends who had no experience in the industry, and experiencing group life in a way that you can't get in just living a normal life.
What was hard about Monosasusuku:
The hardest thing for me was my slow understanding of my studies.
Anecdotes from life in Kamiyama:
We rented a house together, but as winter came and it got colder, we would fight over the heater. I remember that every time we went to a ski resort, I would drink a lot with my dad and eat wild game.
Future ambitions:
I will thoroughly manage my schedule and eliminate waste of time as much as possible. I would like to use my free time to improve my coding skills.
Akane Nakayama
Nickname: Bal-chan
Reasons for joining Monosasusu Juku:
I thought that becoming a front-end engineer would open up new possibilities in life if I could choose my own work style. Also, I wanted to live in a place surrounded by nature.
Things I enjoyed at Monosasusu Juku:
Coding, lunch at Kamaya, hot springs, and Tenkaippin.
What was hard about Monosasusuku:
I was going to eat my lunch outside at lunchtime, but I dropped it in the parking lot. It contained shirishiri and grilled salted mackerel that Hara-chan had made for me.
Anecdotes from life in Kamiyama:
I was blessed with kind people, such as the lady next door who gave me pickled plums and the old lady across the street who gave me a cushion. I also received a sofa, a futon, tableware, and many other things.
Future ambitions:
I will continue to work hard every day to become a reliable front-end engineer.
Coding Factory is made up of members with very distinctive personalities. It looks like they will be even more powerful this year, so I'm looking forward to it.
We will continue to introduce new members tomorrow.
