T-shirts are a summer staple that give you a sense of freedom.
With the hot weather these days, an increasing number of Monosasu members are wearing T-shirts.
If the T-shirt has an elaborate design, a message, or is of a band you know, it can be a great conversation starter.
Since the shape does not change, T-shirts are unique in that they allow a person's personality to shine through in the colors and prints they choose.
From things you received by chance, to things that hold memories, to things you no longer wear but just can't bring yourself to throw away... Today and tomorrow, we will be introducing some of our members' favorite T-shirts.
Please enjoy the show with a relaxed attitude, just like when you're wearing a T-shirt!

What's the point of today's T-shirt?
I received this from an acquaintance who runs a clothing brand called NuGgETS . The graphics are by artist Takahiko Kawamura.
This graphic is titled "Roots" and represents the musical roots of British bands. I like the fun look of flipping it over.
Kawamura mainly works at GALLERY 360° , which also represents Yoko Ono, and is one of the artists to watch, with many of his works being simple yet powerful and impressive.
What to consider when choosing a T-shirt?
Lately I've been choosing larger clothes that are more comfortable to wear.
I have a weakness for art motifs.
What does a T-shirt mean to you?
Something easy.

What's the point of today's T-shirt?
This is a T-shirt from the German techno group KRAFT WERK , and I love the cool color and the size! I've loved KRAFT WERK since I was in high school, and a friend who went to one of their shows bought me this T-shirt.
What to consider when choosing a T-shirt?
Lately I've been collecting T-shirts with ugly logos.
Choose a slightly larger size.
Also, it has to be 100% cotton! T-shirts absorb sweat.
What does a T-shirt mean to you?
Something that absorbs sweat. This is the most important thing.
In the summer, I wear skirts and T-shirts.

What's the point of today's T-shirt?
Snoopy and Peppermint Patty print.
It's hard to find products with Peppermint Patty as the main character, so when I heard that they were being sold at a certain event, I went and bought it (laughs).
The story scene in this print is connected to the message on the back.
Peppermint Patty is a clumsy but strong-willed character.
I like Charlie Brown, but he doesn't seem to notice my feelings.
In this scene, Snoopy runs away from home and comes to Peppermint Patty's house. Usually, Peppermint Patty calls the phone herself, but when Charlie Brown calls her, she gets excited and says, "It's Charlie Brown!" But it's Snoopy who is calling. It's a bit of a sad scene.
The message is actually the lyrics of the Beatles song "Any Time at All."
It means, "Whenever you call me, I'll come right away."
What to consider when choosing a T-shirt?
When I go to a concert, I often buy band T-shirts.
Do you like blue?
I don't have any particular preferences, but I choose prints that have meaning to me, like place names or messages.
What does a T-shirt mean to you?
Everyday wear. Easy to wear and comfortable.

What's the point of today's T-shirt?
My beloved Ryoma Sakamoto is wearing the uniform of the Japanese national soccer team!
The day before yesterday, I returned from a trip to Russia for the World Cup, and watching a Japan national team match for the first time brought me to tears with emotion.
What to consider when choosing a T-shirt?
Choose your favorite soccer team or national team!
What does a T-shirt mean to you?
It's meant to encourage people to support the team and promote the match!
On match days, I will wear a Japan or Italy national team T-shirt, so I hope people who see me on the train will remember that there is a match (laughs).
When I get home and watch the game, I make sure to change into my uniform!

What's the point of today's T-shirt?
This is a T-shirt from Flying Rhythms , an artist I've loved for over 10 years.
Flying Rhythms is a three-person unit that uses djembes and drums.
The picture on this T-shirt is so impactful, I've always wondered who drew it.
I was surprised to learn later that it was painted by the artist Gokita Tomoo.
I had discovered Gokita's work from a different angle and had come to like it, so when I found out this painting was one of them I was very happy.
What to consider when choosing a T-shirt?
I buy a variety of things, stripes, solid colors, prints...
Printed t-shirts are intuitive.
There are a lot of printed T-shirts out there, but there are very few that I like.
When wearing a solid color or striped outfit, I always think about what shoes and pants to wear with it.
When it comes to printed t-shirts, choose ones that have such a strong presence that they can be worn with any shoes or pants you choose!
I couldn't choose my favorite T-shirt, so I'll show you three more.
(Top left) This is a Gokita T-shirt I bought at TACOMA FUJI RECORDS . The print is large, so it feels like I'm buying Gokita's art. There's a T-shirt inside the T-shirt, and if you look closely at the print, you'll never get bored. (Top right) This is also a Gokita work. I bought it at the Los Angeles T-shirt fair . Jeans? A face? What is it? It's a really strange picture, and I'm sure I wore this to Okinawa...
(Bottom left) I had an AONU T-shirt in my house without realizing it. Maybe I bought it at a music event, or maybe a friend left it there...
(Bottom right) I was shocked when I saw the back of the AONU T-shirt. The picture is still a mystery to me.
What does a T-shirt mean to you?
Whatever you need, whenever you need it.
You can never have too many, so I stock up on them in the middle of summer and in winter.
I also think it's a responsible thing to wear.
"Am I capable of wearing this today?"
In the morning, we talk about whether our T-shirts match our feelings (laughs).
I wear it while asking myself, "Will I be able to walk around with this print held up today?" and getting pumped up.

What's the point of today's T-shirt?
I've had it for 10 years and love it because of the relaxed feel and interesting prints.
I wear it once a year.
I bought it at a store I often visit in my hometown, Okayama.
What to consider when choosing a T-shirt?
In the past, people chose their clothes based on how loose they were, but now the criteria for selection is whether they are durable or not.
It's good to wash it thoroughly to bring out the flavor.
I've always liked plain white things.
What does a T-shirt mean to you?
Easy. Other than that, it's not particularly deep.
The first half of the Monosasu T-shirt collection.
Something about a musician or artist you love that has a story connected to it on both sides.
It also became a kind of barometer of my emotions, making me ask myself, "Can I wear this T-shirt today?"
Behind the choice of that one photo lies the person's own personal standards.
So, stay tuned for tomorrow!
