MONOSUS
ICECREAMING MAG

This month's MVP is Masayuki Kamii.
He may look soft on the outside, but he's hot and passionate inside; he's the dad in the production department.

I'm Manabe, head of the production department.

First of all, what is the impression that the members have of Kamii-san?

  • Although he is usually calm, he has a keen eye when it comes to work and manages projects.
  • When faced with something that you think is wrong, say "absolutely no" in a very gentle and polite manner.
  • So there is no unnecessary friction.
  • Apparently, depending on how tense you get, the position of your belt will move up.

It has only been eight months since Kamii joined Monosus' production department in May 2016.
I met him (my senior and the oldest at Monosus) at my previous job at an advertising production company.

His career began as an exterior designer at an iron casting manufacturer, and he later worked for a construction consultant, a SIer, and an advertising agency. (Looking at it like that, it's quite an impressive career.)

The reason why we wanted Ueishi-san to come to Monosus was,

  • I want to take the current directors to the next level.
  • I want to be able to steadily advance large-scale projects within my department.
  • In the future, I want to develop this department into a team based on technology and manufacturing.

This is because of the strong desire of our CEO, Hayashi, and myself.

He is currently mainly in charge of project management for large-scale projects and web production that requires system integration, and has significantly boosted the Production Department's sales this year.

The awesomeness of a professional

Here are some genuine comments of gratitude from club members:

In the past, when a big project came up at Monosus, we all got together and cheered, "Waaaaah!", and somehow we got through it (it was like a kind of festival?).
With Kamii-san joining the company, things have been moving forward quietly and smoothly, and no one is worrying about whether or not "that project is OK," nor does anyone need to...

This is something that would have been unthinkable with previous Monosus models...!! (I'm embarrassed to admit it)

What's really amazing is that even though they are doing some pretty hard things, at first glance they don't seem "tough" at all.

The weight of the skills that Uwai-san has cultivated up until now...
I have come to realize that this is the power of a professional.

From now on, everyone at Monosus will work together with Ueishi-san,
I think it’s extremely enriching to be able to share that know-how.

In fact, up until now, Monosus has tended to accept projects on a department-by-department basis and complete the production process within the department. However, since Kamii-san joined, collaboration between departments has begun to take place, and we are now handling more projects through cross-departmental "project teams."

The Monosus kids love to "create."
In fact, what Kamii likes most is "creating."

Sensing these changes within the company, we had just begun to talk about how next year, we were going to move to the production department with Kamii as the central figure.

There was an unexpected transfer of Kamii-san to another department, or rather, a request from the executives to make him the department manager, consolidate the web production department, and leave it to him.

(-_-)

Even though things were starting to go well after he joined the production team, I thought, "I can't give it to him that easily!" and when I consulted him about it...

The members of Monosus truly love to "create" and are very honest.
I'm very happy to be here and work with them.
If it leads to growth for everyone and improves the company as a whole, then that's great.

It's Dad after all.

Starting next year, Kamii will become head of the creative department, which will be responsible for everything from upstream stages such as web design to operations.

It doesn't end with design and delivery; we are also involved in operation, so we can continue to produce results together.
Going forward, Monosus' web production department will continue to evolve by focusing on operations and strengthening upstream design.
We at Monosus are truly blessed to have Kamii-san take on this role.

From now on, even if you have a web-related project that you previously thought "Maybe Monosus isn't the right fit," please feel free to contact us lol.

We have a father who loves creating more than anyone else.

Lastly, I'm worried about his health.

I like going to izakayas alone, and there are lots of sweet snacks on the table.
I probably drink a large can of sweetened coffee every day.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell Mr. Kamii that I have always thought in my heart that, for the sake of the Monosus children who love to create things, I want them to take great care to look after their health.

Your health is the health of the company.
We look forward to your continued support of Monosus.

Comments on receiving MVP award

Thank you for recommending me as an MVP and receiving the award. I feel a little embarrassed.

A renewal project for a certain website was released last month.
I joined Monosus seven months ago and became involved in this project as a project manager.

To be honest, I was very nervous, anxious, and tense, as I (the project manager) was joining a month late for an important project that takes place once every few years for a client with whom we have done business for several years.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone in the Production and Design departments who supported me and helped me get used to my new environment so that I could focus on my duties as much as possible.

In addition to this, I was able to work with members from various departments within the company, including Monosus Thailand, through several other projects.
What they all have in common is their sincerity in "creating."
Thanks to this, I think I was able to work in my own way in such a short amount of time.
Let's create it together again next time.

And Manabe-san, I was so touched to think that I accepted the enthusiastic invitation in March of this year and that's how I got to where I am today.
I will be moving to a different department from the beginning of the new year, but I hope that this will lead to opportunities to work on projects together.
