Working, living, being alive. The honest present of "monosasu" people. This is the theme of the monosasu site that delivers information every day.
It has been three years since the members started updating the articles they wrote on a daily basis. This year, 240 articles were created!
We publish about 20 articles every month, and once a month, we hold a meeting where all members gather to announce one article as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for that month. The criteria for selecting an MVP are that the article was written with passion, was of high quality, and was about a timely topic.
All of these articles were written with great effort. It is difficult to narrow it down to just one article, but I look back over the articles written over the past month and carefully choose each month.
As is our annual tradition , this year we will look back on the Monosasu site in 2018 while introducing the MVP articles of the year.
*Since the MVPs will be announced the month following the publication month, this article will introduce the MVPs from December 2017 to November 2018.
Monthly MVP of Monosasu Site
December 2017 - May 2018
Enjoy offal while listening to the pleasant hustle and bustle in a town that still retains the scent of the Showa era.
~Motsuyaki Ucchan Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho Branch~
Published on 2017/12/7 Posted by Coder Yoshinori Tamaki
"I don't really want to introduce it," said Tamaki as he wrote this article about his favorite, Motsuyaki Ucchan. The motsu is delicious, and because it's a popular restaurant, it's always packed, so eating it shoulder to shoulder with the person next to you is a taste you can't get anywhere else. When he starts talking about Ucchan, he says, "I hope you enjoy the journey to the restaurant, which still has a Showa-era atmosphere," and his face naturally breaks into a smile.
Tamaki
In today's world, where people are said to be losing touch with each other, there is something special about drinking alcohol in this chaotic atmosphere, interacting with strangers and sharing with them.
And that is the main reason why I would like to recommend "Motsuyaki Ucchan" in Shinjuku.
He introduced us to the deep side of Shinjuku in his unique style, and in his next article in January he also introduced us to the even deeper bar "Alpaka" in Golden Gai .
I'm doing well here.
~One year has passed since I started living in Kamiyama~
Published on January 17, 2018 Posted by Designer Yutaro Kagawa
Kagawa moved from Tokyo to Kamiyama and was fortunate enough to come across a vacant house with a large lot and in good condition. He reflected on the year he has spent in his new home, which is a little different from city life.
"It's because of this house that I'm able to enjoy life in Kamiyama." I make plum wine from the plum tree in the garden, bring out the charcoal grill under the eaves and grill yakiniku and saury... At night, I gaze at the stars like I'm in a planetarium.
Kagawa
Since coming to Kamiyama, I have felt a stronger desire to try things than when I was living in the city. I also feel that a big change has been that I have started to take action first, thinking, "I'll try something once, and if it fails, I'll think about it again."
What I did during that year living here may have been something I could have done in the city if I had wanted to, but I think it was the environment of Kamiyama that gave me the opportunity.
At the beginning of the year, she will be writing about her life with the kitten she recently adopted!
The ruler: "The recommendation of staying in the company"
Four things I learned from working at another company
Published on February 21, 2018 Posted by Planner/Director Nao Uemura
In recent years, Uemura has left Yoyogi and is now based at a client's office. At first, he was a little hesitant, but he took the plunge and is now trying things and experiencing things he couldn't have done at Monosus, and he says he is enjoying his days here.
In this article, I have summarized four things to keep in mind when living abroad.
Uemura
"I don't have any friends, I have to do it all by myself..."
It's easy to fall into this mindset when you're working alone at a client's site rather than as part of a team, but in reality this is not the case.
Clients do not request work from an individual "Mr./Ms. XX," but from "Mr./Ms. XX of Monosus." In other words, they trust the "power of Monosus" of dozens of people behind Mr./Ms. XX, and get the job.
Not only did he provide advice to the members who will be stationed there from now on, but he was also an MVP who gave us the opportunity to learn about the thoughts of members who are working hard at other companies while carrying the Monosus name.
Desk checking is surprisingly deep!
You might even find out their hobbies, personality, and work habits!
Published on March 5, 2018 Author Checker Inui Yahu
Inui, who works in the quality control department and checks the site every day, has always been curious about the area around the desks of the Monosus members.
Perhaps we can learn a lot about a person by how they use the space they have at their disposal.
Let's take a look at the desks of these four people! There is a desk lined with animal figurines, which are said to be soothing, a neat desk with only the bare necessities, and a desk surrounded by carefully selected items...
We have a selection of desks that reflect each person's personality.
Dry
The area around the desk is deep!
You wouldn't notice it when you're just going about your normal work, but talking about what's on your desk could be a good way to become closer, discover an unexpected hobby, or even provide hints for future communication.
Inui always finds interesting things about Monosus with his unique perspective. Whenever I come across his unique personality, I can picture his smiling face in the article.
The Recommendation of Gyoen
Published on April 11, 2018 Posted by Marketing Department Yukari Furuhat
Yukari Furuhata loves walking and is a regular on the " Yoyogi Walking Map " section that introduces the Yoyogi Monosus area. Although she has mostly introduced shops, this article is her first real walk-around story. It is spring. While admiring the cherry blossoms in full bloom at Shinjuku Gyoen, she found a cherry blossom that smelled like sakura mochi and thoroughly enjoyed her first visit to Shinjuku Gyoen in over a decade.
Falling Flag
I want to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about equipment, muscle pain, bugs, etc. Shinjuku Gyoen was the ideal place for me, a lame guy like me. But I strongly recommend that serious outdoor enthusiasts go there anyway! Because it feels good.
Even though it's in the middle of the city, it's a place where you can enjoy the four seasons. When you're feeling a bit tired, why not try visiting?
Make haste and take it slow: How to create your own tools
~ HTML data collection tool using node ~
Published on May 23, 2018 Posted by Coder Yuji Komiyama
"I want to compile about 40 pages of information from a website into Excel format for each page."
One day, the director suddenly sent me a mission. Despite being faced with a mountain of projects, I consulted with my own skills, came up with a plan, and after repeated trial and error, completed a new tool.
Even though he is busy, Komiyama's attitude of not giving up on something once he has decided that he wants to do it is the same as the attitude he has towards this article. He was an MVP who showed respect for his never-give-up attitude.
Komiyama
Sometimes the tools I created are still being used within the department, and I feel very emotional when I see things like, "Oh, by the way, maybe we could use that tool."
It's okay if what you create is awkward.
I think it's a great thing to broaden your experiences, understanding, and possibilities in production.
Although I felt conflicted at the first stage of trying, I would like to continue taking on challenges proactively whenever the opportunity arises.
Komiyama wants to contribute to web technology just as many people have helped him. I hope he continues to cherish that thought!
This concludes the first part of our MVP article looking back on 2018. Tomorrow, we will introduce the second part with six articles!
