This may be a sudden question, but how many people around you wear glasses?

Japan is said to be a country with a high incidence of myopia, but glasses are popular not only for vision correction but also as a fashion item. Recently, PC glasses that cut blue light from computers have become popular. (There are quite a few users of Monosus glasses.)

For people who wear glasses all day, they can be said to be a part of their face.
How did everyone encounter glasses and how have they lived with them? We spoke to some of Monosasu's men who wear glasses and asked them about their thoughts on glasses and what they look for when choosing them.

Part 1: Yu Onogi (12 years of experience wearing glasses)

Glasses I'm wearing now:
Purchased at JINS (around 10,000 yen)

Tips for choosing glasses:
I used to wear rimless glasses, but after I got mono-sus, I used black or brown frames. Rimless glasses are easy to break, so I don't need them anymore. I've had about 7-8 pairs so far, and I try not to change the shape too much. I hate it when people say my glasses have changed (laughs). I used to wear expensive glasses, but since I had a child, my daughter would twist them, so I started buying more affordable ones.

Why do you wear glasses?:
Originally, I wore contact lenses. I liked to put them in the refrigerator to cool them down before putting them on, but the contact lenses would stick to the case and get dry and shiny, so it became a bit of a hassle. So I decided to just wear glasses... and that's how it is now.
Also, I think she's wearing glasses to hide her pale complexion. They hide dark circles under her eyes.

What do glasses mean to you:
I really don't want to put it on.

Part 2: Yosuke Ito (5 years of experience wearing glasses)

Glasses I'm wearing now:
Purchased at CRADLE . A one-of-a-kind item from a German manufacturer (quite expensive).

Tips for choosing glasses:
These are my first pair of glasses. I wanted glasses with a straight frame on top, so I looked around at both low-cost and expensive stores. I popped into Shinjuku Takashimaya and found these with the perfect straightness. They came in a locked case and were expensive, but I was sure I could use them for a long time, so I bought them straight away. I'm still very happy with them. The frames are made of ivory and are extremely light. The texture has changed over the years and they've grown in really nicely. They're the most expensive thing I own (lol).

Why do you wear glasses?:
Originally, my eyesight was bad only in my left eye, and one day I noticed that I couldn't see the subtitles in a movie, and then my right eye started to deteriorate as well. From then on, I only wore contact lenses when I needed to → It was too much of a bother → I'll just buy glasses! And that's how I got to where I am now. I like glasses, and I know that I look like I wear glasses. When I first wore them, a friend even asked me, "Oh, did you change your glasses?" No, it was my first time (laughs).

What do glasses mean to you:
I have become so one with it that I no longer feel anything special about it.

Part 3: Makoto Hamabata (23 years of experience wearing glasses)

Glasses I'm wearing now:
Zoff (around 8,000 yen)
I have three and I change them each day. I bought them all at Zoff.

Tips for choosing glasses:
When I choose something, it's all about feeling, so if I like it at first glance, I'll try it on and make a pretty quick decision. I don't really care if it suits me or not. I basically like black frames, so they're the first thing I pick up. Lately I've been buying them from Zoff, but I'd really like to wear glasses from a hidden, long-established store. Like one that operates quietly in a rural area of Japan. Family-run, in the same place for generations...can someone tell me?

Why do you wear glasses?:
I used to have a period when my eyes looked really bad, and a friend told me, "Your face looks softer if you wear glasses." That's what got me started. At the time, people would say that I looked like a murderer when I took them off (laughs). The other day, when I was preparing disaster prevention goods, I realized that I really can't see anything without my glasses. They're just a part of my body, and I can't do anything without them.

What do glasses mean to you:
Sins imposed by heaven (aton for by casting them)

Part 4: Daisuke Kajiwara (22 years of experience wearing glasses)

Glasses I'm wearing now:
YELLOWS PLUS (probably around 30,000 yen)

Tips for choosing glasses:
I buy glasses from Zoff, wear vintage glasses, and my current glasses are my fifth generation and were given to me as a gift. I have really bad eyesight, so I don't like glasses that don't have a function, rather than a design. I used to wear thin frames, but they were a bit narrow. It's important to ensure that I can see properly. My current glasses have large lenses, and I like the ones with engravings on the bridge, rim, and temples above my nose.

Why do you wear glasses?:
When I was a student, I tended to wear contact lenses, and glasses at home. When I became a working adult in my mid-20s, I mostly wore glasses. I only wore contact lenses when I was playing sports or when I wanted to wear sunglasses during the day. Oh, but I recently bought prescription sunglasses, so I might not need contact lenses anymore. For some reason, people sometimes ask me if they are just fake glasses, but I don't think that's the case. If I had good eyesight, I would never wear glasses.

What do glasses mean to you:
Vision correction device. It's not a character creation (laughs).

When I asked him about it, I found out that life with glasses is quite complex.
It was interesting to see how each of the four people looked at their glasses. (They all look so good in glasses.)

Glasses have a history.
If I have the opportunity, I would like to ask the ruler glasses people about various things.

How to create good blood circulation with members and other people involved? How can we deepen our relationships to do better work? While thinking about this, we introduce the people and work of Monosus. The secretariat has approximately five members. I love eating a lot.
