2019 is the WS Club's "year of ◯◯"!

Hello!
This is Kakarai from the WS Department (Web Master Support Department).

The year 2019 will bring many big changes, such as a change in the era name and an increase in the consumption tax to 10%. How will these changes affect us?

What kind of year should we make 2019, a year filled with both excitement and anxiety? We asked the members of the WS Club to share their aspirations for this year under the theme of "A Year Like This," and we'd like to introduce them to you!

"A Motivating Year"

Hiromi Kakurai (Director)

Last year, I often felt the importance of motivation.
There were various triggers that increased motivation, such as "I'm going to drink today, so I'll definitely post by 7pm", "This project is fun", and "I want to get some numbers", but just being passionate about the project or having a goal, even if it was small, made me type faster on the keyboard.
Of course, there are times when I feel low. I want to make this the year to analyze myself and find ways to stably raise my motivation, whether it be projects, habits, environment, or thoughts.

"The Year of Control"

Kohei Osaka (Director)

I didn't have any serious injuries last year, but I had a lot of health issues, starting with the flu early in the year. Considering that my health can affect my work, I think I can't neglect my health maintenance.
I hope to make 2019 a year in which I can calmly control the waves of busyness and stay healthy both physically and mentally.

"A year to remember Toshl's singing voice"

Ai Takahashi (Director)

Toshl is the vocalist of the rock band X JAPAN, and when I heard his voice recently for the first time in a while, I felt something well up in my heart.
His singing voice was not only beautiful but also deep and amazing, and it gave me the opportunity to think about what it means to experience things, both good and bad.
In 2019, I would like to be able to approach my work in a positive manner, thinking of whatever happens as a new experience.

"A Healthy Year"

Takanori Handa (Director)

I feel like last year was a year of unhealthy living.
I think I was often in poor health because I was sitting at a desk for long periods of time and not moving my body, and my physical strength was declining. I also drank a lot of alcohol.
In order to prevent this from affecting my work performance, I would like to continue to work on improving my physical strength this year. I want to make this a year in which I can function in a healthy state, both physically and mentally, without stress.

"A year for myself"

Yutaro Kagawa (Designer/Director)

Last year, I was so busy working that before I knew it, it was over.
This year, I will first think again about how I want to live my life.
I would like this year to be a year in which I can make decisions both at work and in my personal life based on what I want to do.

"A fresh year"

Ryohei Asada (Designer/Director)

Over the past few years, my job and my home have changed, which in turn has changed my relationships and my lifestyle.
Last year was also a milestone year for me both professionally and personally.
So, in 2019, I would like to restart myself and approach everything with a fresh mind, without fear of failure.

"The last year will be one filled with smiles"

Ayumi Tachiwaki (Director)

Last year was a year of big changes for me, as I changed jobs, moved, and moved to Tokyo.
There were many fun things, but there were far more difficult things, and I think most days I would go home sighing at myself for not being able to do it. When I thought about that, I remembered that up until now, I had overcome hardships and failures by laughing them off in the end.
In 2019, I want to remember that spirit once again, smile even in difficult times, and enjoy both work and my personal life! In the end, it will all become a funny story!

"A year of output"

Satoru Matsunaga (Director)

I would like to make this the year in which I put into practice the knowledge and skills I have accumulated so far.
I'm currently working on my own project (creating a system for searching for allergies), which I wrote about in a previous article , and new initiatives that can be added to the work I've been doing so far...these are still vague, but I would like to make them take shape this year.

"The year when your body is your greatest asset!"

Yuna Sawada (Director)

I was feeling unmotivated and then I caught a cold, but when I continued to eat convenience store food thinking it was no big deal, I got an upset stomach. Despite not getting enough exercise, I couldn't change my lifestyle of commuting door-to-door by car, so I gained weight and felt a drastic decline in my physical strength and courage. However, I reflected on 2018 and was unable to come up with any effective measures, and in 2019 I will continue to do the things that I know are good for my health but have not done yet, and make 2019 a healthy year for myself, aware that I am turning 30!

"A year without structural reform and no growth"

Isao Kurihara (Chief Director)

Regardless of whether they are good or bad, this department has seen a lot of changes recently each year.
This year is also a year of change. We will be carrying out structural reforms of the department. (Actually, structural reforms are not the main focus, but I just want to say structural reforms.)
It may be difficult at some point along the way, but I want to take the lead and work together with everyone so that in the end, all of us can say that we are happier both at work and in our personal lives than we were last year.

These are the WS club members' aspirations for 2019.

Have you decided on your goals for this year?
This year is the Year of the Boar! I hope this year will be a year in which you can run towards your goals with a positive attitude.

KAKURAI Hiromi

I love my own kid. I do 'oshi-katsu' every day.
