We are looking for a sous chef and baker to spread the "Taste of Kamiyama"! Food Hub Project

2016.09.16 | TOPICS | CULTURE

Hello, this is Manabe from the Production Department.

The activities of Food Hub Project Inc. , which was established this spring, have finally begun in earnest. The company was jointly established by the Kamiyama Town Hall in Tokushima Prefecture, the Kamiyama Tsunagu Public Corporation, and Monosus. As the COO, I am busy every day.

Eat what you grow locally.

We have started various initiatives under the slogan "Farm Local, Eat Local." We are looking for members to work with us as we take the first big step towards opening a restaurant and bakery.

The meaning behind this is to connect the flavors of Kamiyama.

Kamiyama Town is attracting attention as a successful model for regional revitalization, but the increase in abandoned farmland in mountainous areas is one of the serious challenges that Kamiyama also faces.

In order to protect Kamiyama's agriculture, how can we nurture agricultural successors in the mountainous region and pass it on to the next generation?

Last year, the town hall and residents of Kamiyama Town formed a group called the "Regional Revitalization Strategy Working Group" to hold study sessions and discussions. It was through these activities that the Food Hub Project was born.

Grow, gather, eat, connect.
We will develop food-related businesses based on four themes.

At the heart of this "eating" business is the operation of new local kitchens (restaurants, grocery stores, and bakeries).

Croquette bread made with natural yeast and made with plenty of local ingredients. A big hit with the local community!

The new stores are called "Kamaya" and "Kamapan & Store."
"Kamaya" was the name given to a place in the past that had a hearth and where neighbors could gather casually. These two stores, named after this, will deliver delicious food made with local ingredients.

The design of the dining hall building was handled by the Landscape Products design team.

Please take a look at the application page on the Nihon Shigoto Hyakka website, where you can find detailed information about the work of the sous chef and baker, how the Food Hub Project began, and the thoughts of the members supporting the efforts of the "Growing Division" and "Eating Division."

In June, we all planted rice together. The chefs started by growing their favorite vegetables, and the bakers started by growing their own wheat, working together with the Food Hub's growing department (agriculture team).

We want people like this to come
  • A person with a lovely smile
  • Honest and open person
  • People who can create things through dialogue
  • People who are confident in their physical strength
  • Someone who can enjoy working and living together like a family
