It was a great year for Kintan Lab! It started with hive Fukuoka → Café Fukuoka → hive Matsuyama → Café Tokushima!

Hello, this is Motohashi from Kintan Lab .

Before we knew it, it was already December 2023. Kintan Lab, the project I belong to, started in January of this year with three members.

This past year has been a very meaningful one for me, as I was able to participate in various events and reboot Kintone Café Tokushima. I would like to record how this happened.

At the end of the article, there is an announcement for the next Kintone Café Tokushima Vol.6, which will be held on February 10th next year. I hope you will stay with me until the end!

Mr. Kakunami from Kamiyama town hall?

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has a system called "Regional Revitalization Business Persons (Kigyojin)." Since 2021, we have been using this system to work together with the Kamiyama Town Hall. This is an initiative that the Kamiyama Town Hall and Monosas have been working on, with the aim of rapidly advancing digitalization by dispatching corporate personnel as digital staff to the local government.

As a local revitalization entrepreneur, Kakunami's role is to promote the digitalization of the entire town hall, not just kintone. In fact, Kakunami only started using kintone after joining the Kamiyama Town Hall.

We had been looking for a place to share with the kintone community the struggles, failures, and results that Tsunanami faced in combining "utilizing local revitalization business people" and "introducing kintone to Kamiyama Town Hall." Kintone Hive 2023 Matsuyama, held in Ehime Prefecture in June 2023, was perfect timing for us.

kintone hive is a live event where kintone users bring their own know-how to share with each other. We at Kintone Lab decided to send Kakunami-san, who has been working at Kamiyama Town Hall for about a year and a half, onto the stage of kintone hive in the role of "Kakunami-san from Kamiyama Town Hall." And everyone on the Kintone Lab team went to Matsuyama (or rather Uchiko Town) to support Kakunami-san as he took to the big stage.

April 2023: Participate in three consecutive events in Fukuoka

Kintone Hive Matsuyama was a big event in itself, but I had another goal : to start up a Kintone user community in Tokushima as well .

In Tokushima, there was a person named Motohashi (note: this is me) who had been running the kintone Café since around 2017, but it was left abandoned, using the COVID-19 pandemic as an excuse. For more on this, please see this article, where I interviewed Kinsuki Matsui.

"The reason why Motohashi held the kintone Café for the first time in four years" kintone Community Guide Board

If we were to reboot Café Tokushima, we should first model it after other local communities! This idea occurred to me, and in April I participated in the most recent kintone hive Fukuoka event.

We also enjoyed the after-hive social gathering!

The presentation by Hive was inspiring, and the enthusiasm of Kintone users was shared by the Kintan Lab team members. The members were also surprised by the fact that " users from all over Kyushu gathered at the same place ."

In addition, there were three major user events in Fukuoka from the day of hive through the next day.

  • kintone hive Fukuoka 2023

  • After hive social gathering

  • kintone Café Fukuoka vol.25

I was able to attend the social gathering as well, and it reminded me that social gatherings are not just for sharing information; they also play an important role in revitalizing the community.

In addition, the fact that I was able to bombard Mr. Kume of AISIC with questions at the social gathering contributed greatly to the reboot of kintone Café Tokushima. (He also supported the holding of the Café as an evangelist.)

June 2023: Appearance at kintone hive Matsuyama 2023 (by Mr. Kakunami of Kamiyama Town Hall)

After getting pumped up at Fukuoka in April, all of us at Kintan Lab will be carrying that same heat as we take on Hive Matsuyama in June.

Uchikoza was located in a townscape with a really nice atmosphere.

I think that participating in Hive Fukuoka and speaking at Hive Matsuyama was a big positive for our team. No matter how many words I use, it is impossible to convey the excitement of kintone users and the importance of having a local community.

Until then, everyone on the team had wondered why Motohashi was so into kintone. For me, the main premise for forming the team was to share the depth and enthusiasm of this user community. That was also the reason I was prepared to invite Hive to speak.

We encourage the nervous Sunami just before he takes to the stage.

Mr. Sunami is scheduled to take the stage in an hour.

For the content of the presentation I gave at hive, please see the ASCII article (I leave it to the professionals)

Is analogue the norm for town halls? How seconded staff changed the way they work with kintone and how people think on the ground ASCILL.jp

From the second floor of Uchikoza

It was a very hot day, including the energy of the venue. The fact that I was able to meet many different people at the venue was also an important factor that led to the later Café Tokushima.

The social gathering I ended up joining (the second or third party?)

Some people say that the social gathering is the best part of a user community event! It's a valuable opportunity to have people get excited about the same topic. It was a really fun event. If you've never participated in a kintone event, or if you've participated but not yet experienced the social gathering, please join us until the end.

September 2023: kintone Café Tokushima Vol.5 Event Report!

It all started with an event in Fukuoka in April, and after much preparation we were able to hold kintone Café Tokushima in September.

Rediscovering the appeal! Looking back on a day spent exploring the possibilities of kintone (Report on kintone Café Tokushima vol.5)

For details, please refer to the note above. I am overjoyed to be able to revive Kintone Café Tokushima, which I had always wanted to hold. I would like to express my gratitude to the members of Kintan Lab, to Mr. Kimura, who organized vol.4, to the many people who participated in vol.5, to Mr. Matsui of Cybozu, kintone evangelist Mr. Kume, and fellow kintone evangelist Mr. Nakao, all of whom supported the event from the kintone community.

Kintone Café was held thanks to the support of many people over the past year. From now on, we would like to create a way to give back to the community.

February 10, 2024: kintone Café Tokushima Vol.6 will be held!

The best way to give back is to promote kintone in our hometown! We aim to hold the Café twice a year from now on.

The next event will be held on Saturday, February 10th. It may have been difficult for some people to attend the last event, which was held on a weekday. Please consider attending. (I apologize to those who were able to attend because it was held on a weekday.)

kintone Café Tokushima Vol.6

Also, on the following day, February 11th, we are preparing a " kintone Dialogue Dungeon " for those who felt that the kintone Café alone was not enough, as a place to dig deeper into topics about kintone. Please look forward to this too!
