Kawaguchi Minoru is not just serious, he actually hides his many personalities

This time we will introduce Mr. Minoru Kawaguchi, Deputy Manager of the Quality Control Department.

Many people in the company have the impression that Kawaguchi is a serious and well-organized person, so to be honest I was a bit worried about ruining that image, but he gave me permission to write whatever I wanted, so now it's my turn.
With all due respect to my boss, Mr. Kawaguchi, I have written something that many people probably do not know.
Kawaguchi-san is not only serious, but he also has some unique aspects.

For example, Kawaguchi-san usually calls me "Yako-chan," but his intonation is different from other people. Most people use the same intonation as "Tara-chan," but Kawaguchi-san uses the same intonation as "ika." He also calls other members of the quality control department (hereafter, quality control members) Mr. XX and calls Saito -san "Saito," but this has not caught on with anyone.

In this way, I will introduce three themes that may shatter your image of Kawaguchi as we know it today.

High sense of beauty

My previous job was in apparel, so I like to dress stylishly (especially in clothes). I pay attention to my hairstyle and clothes, and always keep them neat and tidy.
Up to this point, you might be thinking, "Oh, that's just how Kawaguchi is," but this same vector is also directed at the quality control members. He secretly observes. He's a born checker. Of course, he'll say things like, "I like those shoes," "That's new clothing," or "You're into that kind of style," but the most extreme example is when he said to one quality control member, "You were wearing that clothing in a different color the other day."
He's really watching. I'm sitting next to him.

He also takes good care of his teeth. In addition to brushing his teeth after lunch, he has been going to regular cleanings for the past two years and spends about 10 minutes brushing his teeth at home. I'm not sure if it's for his teeth, but he also chews gum a lot. Sometimes he chews so much that it gives him a stomach ache, which worries me a bit.

The Quality Control Department is also supporting Kawaguchi's dental health.
I'm sure it was intentional, but the seat opposite Kawaguchi is Saito, a qualified dental hygienist. It's a heaven for Kawaguchi, as he can easily consult with a professional. Kawaguchi was the one who was most interested in Saito's article on cavity prevention out of all the people I know.

His love of weight training has become so well-known that everyone in the company knows about it. He usually goes to the gym three or four days a week, on weekday evenings after work.
When asked what's fun about swimming, she said, "The more I work hard, the more the results show on my body, and I get a sense of accomplishment." By the way, her favorite sport is swimming (her specialty is breaststroke). She was in the swimming club when she was a student, and she still swims at the gym.

She also pays attention to her diet, and avoids carbohydrates when she wants to slim down.
I once heard the shocking statement, "When I cut out carbohydrates, my brain doesn't work properly."
I don't have the image of myself eating a lot for lunch. The other day I had a green onion salad. If I occasionally say, "I ate pasta today," people around me get flustered.
However, he often asks the quality control members "What did you have for lunch?" with a cheerful look on his face, so maybe he's secretly waiting to be invited to something other than vermicelli soup for lunch.

Surprisingly delicate

Since his hobby is weight training, you might think that he has a muscular mind as well! But he also has a surprisingly delicate side.

One day, when Kawaguchi changed his hairstyle, his department manager, Sakuyama, casually remarked, "That's a great haircut! Well, it grows back quickly anyway," and walked away.
Although she was smiling at the time, she was quite hurt and thought, "Is it really that strange?" so we all did our best to comfort her.
On days like this, I was worried my pillow would be wet.

They also often ask me questions that are honestly quite annoying, like, "Will eating this make me gain weight?" or, "I want to buy some new clothes, but should I save up?"
The answer is to do as you like, but if you are too cold, it will hurt her feelings, so it is better to ask gently. Kawaguchi-san is more than a generation older than me, but I feel like I am talking to a girl of the same age. She has a surprisingly cute side to her. Maybe she is saying cute things to ease the tension in the club, just out of kindness.

Filled with love for Nana

Kawaguchi is a big fan of the voice actress and singer Mizuki Nana (hereafter referred to as Nana-sama).
The editorial department has asked her to write an article, but she has declined because she feels embarrassed. Let's take this opportunity to break out of our shell.
When I interviewed Nana about her appeal, I thought I would get a quick, matter-of-fact answer, but I was surprised by the enthusiasm she gave me.
It's funny so I'll post it as is.

Q: What made you start to like it?

I just listened to one song and was hooked by her amazing singing. At first I looked down on her and thought she was just a voice actress, but once that misunderstanding was cleared up, I fell in love with her.

Q: What is Nana-sama's appeal?

Nana-sama's energy is incredible. She is a pioneer who has carved out a path where none existed, as if to say, "If there is no precedent, I will create it myself." She has achieved many great feats, the first in the history of voice actors, such as appearing in the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen for six consecutive years and successfully holding a solo concert at the Tokyo Dome. I am always inspired by her powerful figure.

Q: How often do you go to concerts? (I always buy tickets, go even if the venue is far away, etc.)

I always go to every live show (I also go to other places)

At live performances, I dance wildly wearing the "three sacred treasures" of happi coats, penlights, and towels.

Q: Besides Nana-sama, are there any other voice actors you like?

This is Minami Takayama.
A veteran voice actress known for her roles in Detective Conan (as Edogawa Conan) and Kiki's Delivery Service (as Kiki). I like her as a voice actress, but she also used to be an artist, and I've liked her as a singer ever since.

Q: What Nana-sama works do you recommend?

1. " NARUTO " as Hinata Hyuga (2002-2017)
A well-known masterpiece that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for over 10 years.
She plays the role of Hinata, a girl who has feelings for the main character. Her acting perfectly expresses her character's growth from childhood to adulthood.

2. " Basilisk: The Koga Ninja Scrolls " as Oboro (2005)
This is a period drama anime in which the Koga and Iga ninjas are caught up in the issue of succession for the third Tokugawa shogun, and engage in a massacre. She plays the main character, a woman named Oboro, and you can enjoy the unique acting that is unique to period dramas, such as the way she delivers her lines and the timing of her breathing.

I was worried that I could have answered more succinctly, but this is fine.
Finally, I would like to share an episode about Kawaguchi's neatness.

Kawaguchi-san is neat and tidy.

I've been introducing Kawaguchi in a very relaxed manner up to this point, but this is not a follow-up; Kawaguchi is really doing things properly.

When I joined the company, Mr. Kawaguchi was in charge of training, and I don't remember him ever saying "Can I answer later?" when I asked him a question. He always responded immediately. Even now, I have the impression that he is always polite and courteous to everyone and everything.
Since then, I have never seen Mr. Kawaguchi angry.
It is only thanks to Kawaguchi-san's broad-mindedness that I was able to write so freely.

In order to share more stories of neatness, we also asked Sakuyama, who has known Kawaguchi since she joined the company, about Kawaguchi. He replied, "She is serious, careful about everything, and has neat handwriting," and "It's great that she can keep her white sneakers white (I get them dirty so easily...). I'd like to know the secret." These were answers that clearly showed Kawaguchi's neatness.

Kawaguchi-san in a smart and fashionable look

I also learned that "he cares very much about his club members (about their growth and mental health, etc.)," which was a bit surprising to me, as I had thought that Kawaguchi did everything calmly.
This is because I don't get the impression that Kawaguchi is worried or concerned about anyone.
Even when I have a vague feeling that there is a problem, Kawaguchi doesn't create a tense atmosphere. In this respect, it is easy to work with him, but he seems to be the type who doesn't show his emotions much, so personally I would like him to warm up a little more in this area.

He's not only serious, he also revealed that he has a lot of hidden doors.
It would be great if Kawaguchi's individuality could take root with the publication of this article, but I also think that even if she continues to be the "Kawaguchi-san is neat and tidy" person she has always been, that will still be very Kawaguchi-like.
