Hello. I'm Manabe, the head of the Production Department.
This month's MVP is Fujiwara Marie, the youngest member of Monosasu Production Department.
Marie, who I consider to be the "eternal youngest child," has turned 30 and, according to what I've heard, has grown more than I could have ever imagined. (I'm the department manager, but this is just hearsay.)
Here's what I know about her story...
- Although he is the only person in Monosasu (?) who graduated from an art school, he had almost no experience in production work, so he was hired based on his talent of playing the djembe (hired through a job posting by Nihon Shigoto Hyakkaten).
- He is crazy about mountains and is a member of a mountaineering club for working adults. Even though he is busy, he seems to go mountain climbing whenever he finds the time.
- This summer, for some reason, I worked part-time at a mountain hut for a few days, preparing meals for over 100 climbers almost all day. (※Monosus allows side jobs.)
- He loves mountains so much that he has begun to think about how to protect them, even though they are sometimes damaged by climbers.
- Recently, she has been exploring the possibility of starting a personal project called "Good Mountain, Good Trekking" within the company to protect mountains (I will omit the details as I think she will write about them someday).
In my fantasy, I think her private life is similar to that of the protagonist of " Mountain, Appetite and Me ," a manga that my daughter and I love to read. (A manga about a solo female mountaineer who hates being called a mountain girl.)
I think her unique characteristic is that she is able to find "sociality" in the things she is involved in and increase her own motivation (like mountain climbing).
When she was working on an educational project, she said this:
"At a time when my work was extremely tough and I was overwhelmed, I was able to be involved in a socially meaningful project that is involved in education, which is about the future of children. It reminded me of what a good job I am doing, and it motivated me."
What an honest guy...
Although she is such an enthusiastic person, she has a terrible time with numbers such as estimates.
I made countless mistakes while doing tasks I was unfamiliar with.
However, team leader Uemura says:
"Even when she fails, when I see her honesty and hard work, I feel like supporting her rather than getting angry. She takes everything people say seriously, so people around her want to teach her everything and they love her."
What a lucky and lovable character...
I would like to share some more words from Uemura, who has been watching her efforts closely.
To begin with, he was diligent and competent enough to perform well within his own scope of work, but what I feel has really made him mature recently is that he now proactively follows up on the upstream work being done by other project members (even before we ask him to).
This not only means that the range of work I can handle has expanded, but also that I can now get an overview of the entire project, and what's even better is that I've gained the ability to determine which process is stalled.
But what I find most amazing is that Marie is able to produce results even in areas that are not her forte.
The current project requires detailed progress management and business-like yet meticulous communication, which is frankly not her forte, as Marie is easygoing (or careless). Despite being in such an area of weakness, she was able to produce results that were recognized by the client without getting discouraged, which means she worked harder than most. I think it's really amazing that she can work hard at something she's not good at.
After all, I am loved...
I still remember one time, a client working on a project with me expressed his appreciation to me in a meeting attended by many members, saying, " Marie has been soaring into the sky lately! "
Of course, it is important that the client she is currently working with is an environment that focuses on "what she is interested in" and "developing people," even if the staff are external. However, this may also be the "luck" that attracted her, as she is an honest and lovable person.
She will surely continue to soar into the skies in the future.
Congratulations Marie on winning the MVP award.
Comments on receiving MVP award
Thank you for selecting me as MVP.
I am very happy to have received this at this time. It's been exactly three years since I joined Monosus.
It's not an obvious milestone of having accomplished something big, but I had just started to feel that the valuable experiences I had accumulated daily up to this day were steadily building up strength when I received this award.
Receiving positive feedback gives me a boost and makes me feel more motivated both mentally and physically. At the beginning you described me as "the forever youngest child" (lol), but lately I've been thinking that I'd like to move beyond that and take a step forward to be able to see more of the people around me.
I will do my best to fly even higher in the sky!Marie Fujiwara
