During the MVP announcement at the Monosus regular meeting in May, after the usual (verbal) drum roll by the staff, I pulled my chair out of the way for my senior, who was sitting next to me, before listening to Hayashi's announcement.
Her name is Megumi Matsubara. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was convinced that "Mr. Matsubara will be the MVP this time!"
Recently, Coding Factory published a book called " A Practical Method for Fast and Accurate Web Development Taught by a Front-End Specialist Production Company, " and Matsubara rewrote the entire book. His work was highly evaluated, leading to the award of this MVP.
Kojima expressed his gratitude to Matsubara while holding back tears and overflowing emotions. Thank you both for your hard work.
He completed the project properly and won the award.
It is an enormous task to take a massive number of manuscripts written separately by seven different people and compile them into a single unified work.
While we were busy with our daily projects, Matsubara, together with our department manager Kojima, worked tirelessly on this project for about a month until publication, restructuring, rewriting, and proofreading the entire text.
One day, something like this happened.
As the deadline for the final manuscript was fast approaching, Matsubara was still busily typing away at her keyboard at around 9pm. She is the type who likes to come in early in the morning, and on this day she was at work before 9am, and had been working long hours every day.
Kojima, who was obviously worried about Matsubara's health, said to him, "Matsubara-san, I'll take care of the rest, so you can go home now."
"No, there's almost time left. I'll do it."
Even after that, Kojima repeatedly urges him to go home, but he says, "It's still okay. I'll do it," and continues working...
Wow, how cool!
They try to do things properly, carefully, and to see things through to the end, without cutting corners.
No matter what the situation, I was impressed by her determination to stay true to herself, as I was exhausted both physically and mentally from the project.
Because we are there to support the CF as a whole
Fair-skinned, petite, and with floral patterns on her clothes and belongings, she exudes a girlish aura, but also has a sharp, sarcastic remark. Matsubara Megumi is a senior who truly hits all the sweet spots of "kawaii."
Her work can be described as "careful and steady." As mentioned in the member introduction article, she carefully produces each and every deliverable, and even incorporates her own experience into various tools and deploys them to the team. As a director and member of CF, I secretly admire her.
Starting this year under the new system, Matsubara has been working on the front lines, calculating labor hours for projects that customers consult with our sales team about.
She is a highly skilled director and coder herself, and she responds to points that were difficult to notice at the consultation stage in the past with great attention to detail, and passes them on to the other members.
He also volunteered to handle visitors and phone calls, saying "Since I no longer have any projects to work on," which made it easier for us team members to concentrate on our work.
He is truly the unsung hero.
Matsubara has always been watching over, supporting, and working on CF as a whole, which is why he understands what CF should convey in this book. And one more thing. He also has the ability to endure the enormous amount of work and complete it without cutting corners.
It is precisely because of this that she was entrusted with the important task of rewriting the commercial book and making final adjustments.
It would be no exaggeration to say that the successful publication of the book was possible thanks to Matsubara's presence at the CF.
The back view of a senior colleague working silently
Thank you for your hard work on the rewrite, Matsubara-san.
My senior is so cool, teaching me the importance of "doing things properly"!
Congratulations on winning the MVP award!
Comments on receiving MVP award
As I wrote in an article on the Monosasu website the other day, I have had many experiences since joining CF. Among them, being involved in writing this book was a major event in my life, and I am very grateful for having had this valuable opportunity.
Although it is written, the source of the contents is the know-how that the past CF members have steadily built up through their practice. The writing members of the CF BOOK PROJECT (a total of seven people, including current directors, coders, and checkers) that started last summer discussed what should be written in the book, and compiled their respective parts by the end of last year. Then, this year, it was Kojima, the manager, and I who made the final adjustments to the manuscripts that everyone had written.
A series of coincidences led to me being given this role, and at first I felt an unusual amount of pressure from this important task. Furthermore, in the latter half of the project, I found myself fighting against time, which made it difficult for me to carry out my regular duties... However, thanks to the understanding and cooperation of those around me, I was able to concentrate on working on the book, and as a result, I was able to give it my all until the very end, without compromising. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who helped me.
Thank you very much!
