Looking back at the Monosasu site in 2018 through the MVP articles, Part 2

2018.12.21 | TOPICS | CULTURE

This is the second part of our look back at the past year, introducing the Monthly MVP articles of the Monosasu site. Following on from the first part , we will be introducing six articles in the second part.

It has been three years since the members started writing articles on the "Monosasu Site" in a daily calendar format. In those three years, 720 articles have been published.
This article was written by a member whose main focus is web production, in between his other work.
This number is deeply moving for both our members and the editorial staff.

Over the past three years, some new members have joined and some have graduated.
Monosus has certainly changed since three years ago, and reading past articles already brings back memories.
I've recently come to realise that the article represents the gradual change in Monosus...

Maybe it's the end of the year so I'm feeling a bit sentimental, but this is the second part of my look back at Monosasu site in 2018, introducing this year's MVP article!

2018 Language Journey Adding spice to your life with language

Published on June 25, 2018 Posted by Monosus Thailand Director Mayuko Akamine

Akamine loves learning various languages and has an insatiable interest in them. He can speak English, but after moving to Thailand, he started learning Thai as well. Thai, English, and Japanese are all spoken in the office. One thing he noticed was that, strangely enough, when he spoke to people other than Japanese, Thai was the language that came to his mind first. What he noticed during his days of living in multiple languages was that when he spoke each language, his way of thinking changed and his personality changed slightly.

Akamine

My interest in languages has had a major impact on my life, my thoughts, and my work. The joy of being able to communicate with others is irreplaceable, and it adds spice to my life, enriching it.

Among the options you may have when changing the way you work or where you live, why not consider "changing your language" as one of them?

We interviewed the interpreters who support Monotai and took a look inside their heads on this linguistic journey. It makes you want to try speaking to Akamine in a language other than Japanese.

NO BORDER
The World Cup is a global event

Published on July 13, 2018 Posted by Headquarters Okubo Chikako

2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. I'm sure there were many people who stayed up late every day watching the games to see the brave performances of the Japanese athletes. Headquarters' Okubo is a die-hard soccer fan who has been to every match in France since Japan's first appearance in the World Cup 20 years ago. After returning home from cheering for Japan's first match and the match against Senegal, he wrote this article with great enthusiasm, saying, "I'll finish it before the final!" He loves soccer and the people who gather at the World Cup. His love for soccer seeps out between the lines.

Okubo

There's something I feel every time I go to watch the World Cup.
Depending on the match you choose to watch, there are serious battles between countries (some of which have historical backgrounds and can even be frightening) that you cannot go to casually.

However, after the match, both countries forget about such things, talk to each other, drink alcohol, and praise each other for their good performance. People from other countries also join in, and everyone becomes united by their common topic of "soccer."

Okubo has an outstanding ability to bring people together. I hope he will continue to unite many people somewhere in the world through the soccer he loves... He was an MVP who made us feel the world peace.

"Work like you live" - Let's create a measuring app to achieve this

Published on August 2, 2018 Posted by Planner Makoto Yamauchi

Monosus has a unique system called " In-house Apps ." If the basic rules established by the company are the OS, then employees can freely propose activities in the company as "apps" that will make it more convenient and fun. Yamauchi felt that while full flextime was introduced last year, which increased the freedom of work styles, it was becoming less connected among employees. He thought about how they could connect more with the things they all like, and compiled a list of ideas. All of them are exciting and look like they would be fun to try.

Yamauchi

Reading everyone's articles on the Monosasu website, seeing unexpected sides of people during buddy lunches , and having nerdy conversations in the smoking area - I feel a real sense of reality in these "off" moments. Because they are a reflection of everyone's "daily lives." That's why I want to turn "off" into "on" for everyone, including myself.

There's a saying that goes, "A box that remains unopened will never be opened," and if you can take the plunge and open up parts of your everyday life at work, you'll surely discover contents you've never seen before.

The other day, one of these ideas was to hold an in-house flea market called " Things that go around ". It was a great success, and they hope to continue holding it in the future, involving people from outside the company.

You can still enjoy eating out even if you have food allergies!
I thought about the web services I found at TDL

Published on September 11, 2018 Posted by Web Director Satoru Matsunaga

Matsunaga is a father of two children. While taking his children to Disneyland, he came across a web service called " Allergen Information ," which allows you to search for restaurants with allergy-friendly menus by inputting the ingredients you cannot eat. Matsunaga himself has a child with an egg allergy, so finding restaurants when he's out is always a struggle.

Matsunaga

Usually, information such as "restaurants that can accommodate allergies" is readily available, but this was the first time I'd come across a service that can search for specific "●●" and "●●" and even display menu names.

This way, I could choose a restaurant that had lots of menu items that my children would like, and the time I spent looking was fun, and I could search with a bit of excitement.
As expected from Disneyland, the land of dreams. As a user, I am truly grateful for the attention to detail they provide.

As a web designer and as a user, I was impressed by this reverse lookup service for allergy information.
It would be really helpful if there was a nationwide "reverse restaurant search" that wasn't just for Disney... Dad is thinking about taking it up as his own project.

Introducing four intriguing 3D artists and motion graphic artists who create unique worldviews

Published on October 31, 2018 Posted by Designer Tomoya Imai

Imai has previously introduced recommended websites , apps, and web services that he uses as input for designers, and is always keen to learn new information. This time, he introduced us to overseas artists active in the world of 3D and motion graphics, his favorite field. Their works, which dramatically decorate the opening scenes of dramas and movies, have the power to draw the viewer into the world of the story.

Imai

Believing in his own sense, he creates his own unique worldview and incorporates it into video and graphics.
It may seem simple at first glance, but I believe it is no easy task to express your own preferences.

Beeple's project " Everydays, " in which he has been publishing one work every day for 11 years, is overwhelming. This article made me realize that behind the breathtaking works, there is a lot of hard work, which is something that is common in any world.

Monosus Thailand Light, Ton
The light of Monosus Thailand,Tong
Pongtana Denprasert

Published on 2018/11/2 Author : Prem

This is an article introducing Ton, the leader of Monosus Thailand's coders, in which Prem introduces the band. The article starts with a discussion of "light," which Prem, a Christian, holds dear, but in the end, the discussion of "light" overlaps with Ton, giving us a better understanding of Ton... I was surprised at the unprecedented way the article was written, and at the same time, it also gave me a glimpse into Prem's gentle personality.

Prem

Mr. Tong is a light that illuminates and guides Monosas Thailand and shines even in his home. True light shines wherever you are and never goes out. And that light cannot be hidden. You must not hide your light either.

It was a very warm article, as if Prem were sitting next to me and talking to me.

We have introduced the monthly MVP articles of the Monosasu site. What did you think?
This article was good, and this article was good too... It's quite difficult to narrow it down to just one each month. In addition to these 12 articles, there are many others I would like to introduce, but I'll do that another time.
I'd like to thank all the members who worked hard to write this in between their work this year!

Monosus Site Team

How to create good blood circulation with members and other people involved? How can we deepen our relationships to do better work? While thinking about this, we introduce the people and work of Monosus. The secretariat has approximately five members. I love eating a lot.
